Yes, the urgency of the preaching work is clear for all to see! And it proves that we are in the last days and fulfilling Jesus' command to "Go, therefore, and stand at a trolley for hours on end, not talking to any of the people of the nations, and don't baptize them in the name of JW dot ORG." (Matthew 28:19)

Just get those hours in for our Yearbook stats!!

Ahhh, the "good old days" are gone. Once upon a time, when I was a pioneer after graduating high school, we had to actually WORK while out in field serve-us. I remember doing "street work" and the elders practically pushed us to latch on to some poor soul walking by and chase them and walk along with them as they attempted to get away from us, while chattering about some points in the magazines. A few years ago, before trolleys were the method of choice, I used to see groups of them in the New York subway stations standing in a row, like birds on an electrical wire, just holding up magazines while looking terrified and saying nothing to the passersby. These kids nowadays have got it too easy. They don't know how we were trained in combat-duty as WT "terrorists" lol.

Don't speak too soon Cangie! I should imagine that if the "returns" from the trolley "work" continue to be so dismal, some future Kingdom Ministry may begin to instruct Witnesses to find ways of verbally approaching passersby - although I would predict most of the modern-breed of JWs would not have much stomach for actually eye-balling and initiating an exchange with passersby. Also, some city ordinances forbid 'accosting' passersby: You can show your wares but you cannot intrude upon passersby space so to speak.

One thing's for sure: Despite what they say about it running out, time will tell where this trolley work leads!

i suppose the next thing is---dragging the trolleys round on the door to door ministry ?

Nah......they'll just take turns staffing the telephone at the Kingdom Hall waiting for those interested in salvation and living forever to call.

This will result in a huge increase in the number of pioneers.

konceptual99 - "...it is yet further confirmation that the new approach is just as much of a waste of time as the traditional D2D work."

I would argue that the "time-wasting" aspect of it is a little more evident.

They went from being ignored at the door to being ignored at train and subway stations. You just can't keep up with Jehovah's chariot!

Don't the instructions for cart use state they have to wait for someone to approach them?

Then they direct them to the web site.

    Easy-peasy-pioneasy!
