Yet more trolley (in)activity

Interesting that the jws who take the bible so literally have now decided to ease back on christs command to go door to door and into people's homes.

Many yrs ago on this site I predicted that jws were slowly heading mainstream and sure enough the blood "issue" has since been radically eased, the urgency of the end times has been eased, the ban on the internet has backflipped, the generation of the last days has basically disappeared and finally preaching has been downgraded to signs on kingdom halls saying go to jw.com and passively sitting behind a desk checking facebook and chatting with friends.

You mean posterity in the new world?

The cart witnessing is quite the farce!

I was asked to do it and I turned it down. Due to extended womanly complications of our frail nature, you understand.

Then, there's this past middle-age sister who is quite obese but is a dynamo at the door to door work. She's funny, she cares a lot about people and she'll talk about the Bible with anybody. I'm sure she gets way more return visits and placements than everybody else at the Hall. Well, they didn't ask her to man the cart. When she asked, and said she'd like to take the cart out too, they told her that they had a full schedule already and since there's been a lot of interest, the list was full for the next three months, but if she continued auxiliaring they'd keep her in mind when they make the new schedule.

Mind you I hardly ever go out in service any more. Several other sisters were asked if they wanted to do cart witnessing. Their service records are probably not even close to this other sister. The only difference I could see is we are not overweight and she is. What a bunch of losers they are pulling this crap! I'm glad I'm out of that congregation.

I have to say, I work in NYC and have yet to see one of these things.

I also have not even seen JW in my neighborhood in NJ in several years.

Was actually thinking about this a few days ago.

My Dad became a Dub so he could marry my Mom.

Same thing with an older Elder in our KH. He's given his story many times over the decades - started studying to marry his Dub wife.

Seems like it works far better statistically than the otherwise 10,000 hours spent per new recruit (including the infant baptisms) .

I think Jesus, when saying " --I will make you fishers of men--", had not in mind a recreational angler sitting with the rod, slack line, hook, bait, float,-- in the shade, half asleep. wt always has funny interpretations of scripture.

The arrangement is actually more sinister, quite, quiet like a spider, stand-offish, ready to eventually sucking the victim dry.
