The Simpsons has got to be my favourite animated series of all time. Obviously, all of the main characters are pretty good (my favourite main character is Homer, DOHHH! ), but I think the secondary characters can give some of the funniest lines in the show.

So for the Simpsons fans here, who is your favourite secondary character?

Well, I like just about all of them, but I'll try to narrow it down to a few.

I like Fat Tony and his mob crew:

"Bart, is it wrong to steal a loaf of bread to feed your starving family?"

    "well, no"

"...and what if you have a particularly large family, is it wrong to steal a truckload of bread?"

    "I guess not"

I also like Disco Stu and the Duff beer man. They're kinda rare characters, but crack me up whenever they show up. Even though Grandpa is a boarderline "main character", I'd be remiss if I didn't mention him, too.

    So what about you guys?

oh my god the funniest thing that i had ever witnessed was a simpsons Episode where i believe Mr. Burns or Homer wanted to ship a package somewhere and the teenage freckle looking clerk (the secondary character) says while his voice is cracking "lEt Me ChEcK tHe MaNuAl" ...it's so stupid because all he has to do is take the package...and stamp it and ship...i nearly died laughing when this was done. As did my roommate...and every once in a while when we're in a very serious discussion and we're not sure how to do something...or what scripture it is...i'll say "let me check the manual" in a crackling voice and we'd all bust up laughing. God i hope i see that episode again. ~FS

I liked the episode where the kids went to the neighboring town of Shelbyville to get their lemon tree back, and there were people like them over there. Reminds me of how every JW congregation had the same characters were every you went.

    Just my thought

That geeky kid with the cracking voice keeps showing up all the time. My favorite episode with him in it was the one where Homer had seen the alien and Mulder and Scully come to investigate. The kid ends up having to take over the documentary because Leonard Nimoy takes off with something like 10 minutes to kill before the time runs out. The kid finishes off saying "I'm LeoNarD NimOy.... KeEp wAtChinG the SKiS!" I LMAO every single time I see it.

My favorite secondary character, though, has to be the comic book store guy. He's obnoxious, a know-it-all, and a complete failure at delivering witty insults.

    Love, Scully

Ned Flanders could be a devout JW the way he calls Elder Love Joy on every little problem he has and love joy when he gets another call from Ned he says to his wife " what did Ned do now? step on a worm?" Or when Ned says I think I might be coveting my own wife.

I like the one when the Unitarians (I think it was them) roll into town and brainwash everyone except Marg, Reverend Lovejoy, Ned Flanders and Groundskeeper Willy. They grab Homer into the back of a limo and Reverend Lovejoy wacks Homer on the head with a baseball bat, but nothing happens so he moans "ooooh, the devil has given him super-human strength!"

Then Willy goes "ah, gimme that, ya noodle-armed choir boy!" and beats Home-boy over the head again with the baseball bat.

Anyhoo, it was only when that sweet, sweet beer hit Homer's tongue that he realized that he'd been brainwashed.........

Now why would I be able to identify so well with that episode??!!!!

But the very best, number one line in the show is when Reverend Lovejoy says to Ned Flanders "have you ever considered one of the other religions Ned? They're pretty much all the same." I laugh my ass off every time I see that one.

I like the one when I think it was homer crashes into the chicken takeout restaurant and the kid with the crackling voice says something like "YoU foRgot your moiSten tOweLed sir?"

Another one when Marge's sister Selma was hitting on the geeky bag boy and he said, "Sorry mame its against company policy to date the customers". The black guy beside him says "It is not!!" and the geeky kid kicks him and tells him to shut up. The black guy responds by saying "go for it" but Marge's sisters were even too ugly for the geeky kid.

Ralph Wigum ALL THE WAY BABY! "My cat's breath smells like cat food"

And Grandpa always makes me laugh. "You remind me of a poem I can't remember, and a place I'm not sure I've ever been to...*gasp* I'm in love!...No wait...it's a stroke!"

Lunch Lady Doris "More testicles mean more IRON!"

And of course--the Comic Book Guy- to a nerdy girl "Can you deal with an overweight 30 something virgin who still lives in his parents basement?" Girl: "Comb the sweet tarts out of your beard and you're on!" Comic book guy: "Don't try and change me baby"
