I don't know much about steam engines but I just have to comment that that is one of the prettiest ones I have ever seen! I don't believe I've ever seen one so pretty here in the United States.Thank you for posting that lovely picture!

Thanks for your interest. We have a thriving network of renovation societies throughout the UK, there are dozens of steam train lines dedicated to preserving some of the old engines.
Plus, the Ministry of Defence has several hundred in mothballs, just in case fuel oil and electricity are in short supply during a major conflict.

What a lovely locomotive, Englishman ! How is fall weather by the sea over there, btw. In a week or so, we'll have wonderful Fall colors around here in New England. Sunny, warm days. I love Autumn.
