I've tried the "Start a Study" routine. When my wife (now ex-wife) was a witness, she was constantly on my a** to become a witness. At the time the internet was not available, so the only information I could find were the few books that I could get my hands on. To say the least, I was religiously ignorant. I had no clear plan, I just wanted to show them that their beliefs were wrong. I didn't convince them of anything. After awhile there is no polite way to object to some of their incorrect beliefs. If they knock on my door again, I'm not sure what I will do. The biggest problem I can see is, that they will not want to accept traditional Christianity, and the atheist/agnostic is probably out of the question. Where do you suggest they go?

People do stuff like that already and get paid for it. I don't think there are any job openings for religious spy's. I haven't seen any anyway. It probably wouldn't pay well either. You'd have to work for contributions.

Dear Paradiselost, I think youre idear is a good one I come from a religious community where I cant pick a period of time there wasnt differing opinions. I remember people we called the Brinsmeads in the 60s and 70s who beleived differently who would sit on one side of the church while all the other members would sit on the other. Nowerdays people are more relaxed about different beleifs and accepting but I often think of the Brinsmeads even though I dont agree with them they have helped to form the church as it is now by there insistance on being accepted by the church. Ive often said the witnesses need a brinsmead group. Barry

I already wasted enough of my life in a Kingdom Hall. I wont even go into one for a wedding or memorial.

Amen. My sister will probably be getting married in the next year or so to a pedophile JW, and you can bet yer ass I won't be there.

Well lets put it this way...lets say you do pretend to be part of the disgusting thing causing desolation standing in a holy place and you begin to tell people...not only would the elders be notified immediately and have you taken into the back room and no actual 'damage' done BUT! in the process you lied to be part of the disgusting thing. My motto: run in screaming in the middle of sunday talk.~FS

    Ask Him.

Everyone has wisdom we can learn from, even JW's. Even the Kingdom Hall. If we want to help them, we've first got to help ourselves. Change starts in the inside. That's how Jesus and Paul did it.

Paul went back to the Jews because he was sent. And he followed the rules and came under the authority. People came to know Him because of it. And Jesus came back to us because He was sent. And we came to know Him because of it, we were saved because of it.

Above all, though, we've got to love. We know little. We only see in part. If we don't love we're just going to be a noise, that ear plugs will remedy. Like a siren a dying person drowns out and runs away from, because they don't KNOW the noise.

    You care. That means alot.

And take it easy. He loves you.

For me, my heart hurts for my own church, but God is keeping me away for some reason. And in the meantime, I'm growing alot. I love them so much, and it's so hard to stay away, but I'm trusting that God has big plans for them utilizing others to guide them to the Light of the World.

Read Acts. But what He says is what makes everything have being. With His blessing, all things are possible.

I have moved from the area that my old congregation was in. I do, from time to time get visits from the nearby congregation who are mostly unaware that I am still infact a jw.

The first time they called, I explained.

The second time they called I gave them a mouthfull.

Just about three weeks ago two different ladys came and offered me the mags. (Aren't they supposed to keep records?)

During the couple of minutes or so that it took one of them to perform her presentation, all kinds of things were racing through my head, one of them was...pretend you're interested and ask them for a bible study...

    Then reason prevailed.

I would not like to give to them any more of my precious time.........they have wasted enough of it.
