I didn't see that one but I seen the one with Joan Crawford in it playing an rich mean old blind woman that bought this retarded guys eyes. The irony was that she got the operation and as it was only to last a few hours before the corneas would burn out. Well she was all alone and she took the bandages off and after a few minutes there was a big power outage. She didn't realize this and started crying and saying it was unfair and she falls down an elevator shaft and dies.

That was not a bad series but it did not have the same writers and Rod did not have the artistic impute that he had on the Twighlight Zone. He was only used as the host of the show. As a matter of fact I think that Steven Spellberg wrote for that show. It only lasted one season and was cancelled. You can get some of the Night Gallery on Video.

Will, that Joan Crawford one is a classic. The rich bitch had it coming!

Rod Serling had a special on one night. It was by a French guy, I think, and Rod said, well he said, it was special. It was about this man, during the Civil War. There weren't any words, if I remember right, just a song about being a 'livin' man'. The man is being led to a bridge, where he is about to be hung. As his weight pulls the rope, it breaks and he falls into the river. He starts swimming. They shoot their rifles at him, but somehow he makes it to the bank, all happy. Then, he starts running, running down this beautiful country lane. He comes to this Southern mansion and his wife is there, very beautiful, smiling at seeing him. They embrace. Then the reality. A snap and he is hanging from a rope off the bridge. It was really one of the most beautiful movies I had ever seen. I think it was called 'An Occurence at something-or-other Bridge'.

Riz....."anyone ever see magic"? Oh ya!

Anthony Hopkins was the Ventiloquist......an early one for him. When I was a dub I saw that movie and vowed..."if the dummy moves or talks...all by himself....I'm turning it. He never did.

Reminds me of another episode on Night Gallery. The one of the Nazi war criminal who was in hiding. Anyway to find peace he found by staring at this painting in an art gallery of a peaceful scene he would be transported into the picture. One night they were after him and he fled into the art gallery. He goes to where the painting was hanging and prays to let him into it. It was dark and he thought it was the painting of the beautiful scenery but it wasn't he got transported instead into a picture of the crucifixion.

Believe it or not, the Jolly Grean Giant scared me to death. When those vegetable commercials came on I would run and jump on the couch and bury my face in the cushions. HO! HO! HO! I would hear him and almost pee myself. Scary stuff to a little kid. For a while I imagined that Jehovah looked like the Jolly Green Giant, only white. Big mean dude. Used to have nightmares about it.

Wow is this thread ever bringing back memories!

Invasion of the Body Snatchers - the 70s version. Very scary. Never could watch the end of it as a kid.

Gaslight - an old Hitchcock film about a man driving his wife insane so he can have her money

    War of the Worlds

    V

Psycho - although I didn't watch that until I was in my 20s

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? - that is one creepy film

    There's more but that'll do.

Edit: Oh, and the scariest film I have ever seen in my entire life was In the Still of the Night. The dream sequence scared the piss outta me.

Anyone remember "The Prisoner"? This British Tv-series had a sphere-like monster in it

that suffocates its victims. As an astmatic kid this scared the hell out of me.

Also some episodes of "Voyage to the bottom of the sea" were scary.

I also can clearly remember that while watching some unknown horror movie on a sunday afternoon

in our local cinema,I got so scared that my older brother had to take me home during the film.

I still don't know what the title of the movie was,but I remember some girl running around in a castle,

an eye in a portrait on the walls that came to life, and dwarfs bothering that same girl...
