    Lyineyes,

I was very moved by your post...one thing in particular caught my attention...

We have been out a year and for the first time in our married life, we don't worship together, we don't study together anymore. He and I both read the bible as we feel the need to, but since we are on different levels of recovery leaving JW, we do our own , for now.

That right there tells me that you have more faith than at least 80% of the people I know that go to church every Sunday.

I'm very happy for you two.

    God Bless,

    Lizard

Hey lyin! At least the great WT doesn't have to love Jehoba some much that he mows the KH lawn every Saturday huh? Send my greetings to him and remind him that absence from November's Apostafest will not be tollerated!

    Sincerely,

    District Overbeer

Thank you for a nice post LyinEyes. I can relate very much to what your husband and you have been going through.

Being an elder is in many ways the barometer which a jw man uses to measure his spirituality. In the jw religion, 'reaching out' and doing more and more can easily become the very reason for our spritual growth. When that is lost, it is indeed difficult to find one's way at times.

Well WT is coaching kids already. There are millions of things to do in the community isn't there? You can get involved with so many charities or support groups. I don't do much but I'm enjoying coaching highschool sports and I'm very involved with lots of activies and groups at the school. We are a small school with only 83 kids in the highschool, so there is a need. The latest thing I'm doing is getting a scuba diving club started. I have the local dive shop donating loaner equipment and offering classes for cheap. Most of the kids involved are from very low income families. It isn't curing cancer, but it sure makes you feel worthwhile.

Goodness, I was very surprized to see so many sweet replies to that post. Sometimes I just like to sit down and use this forum as my own personal journal, LOL to express my feelings and work thru things. But I tell you, it is a great privledge to share with so many of you my ups and downs and observations I have had since leaving the JW. It is great to have the freedom finally to not have to watch everything I say anymore, I can tell my true story from my heart. That is something that is so important to me and has helped me more than anything, just being able to express myself and not have to suppress myself anymore.

I appreciate the warm blessings sent by ya'll for our family , because they are my life. Thanks.

I appreciate the ideas of other things to do for the community. Right now Wild Turkey is helping with the coaching at our little high school. And Jake is doing great, he just got a new postion,... a starter for the defense starting tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!! The other boys, many that don't even know who their fathers are, have taken to Jake's dad, boys of all races and ages. In the neighborhood , even as JW's , you could find WIld Turkey, out throwing the ball, or setting up races for the kids . We always got strange looks from a particular elder, he was our age, when he saw us involved with these kids. I guess in his mind they were just bird food trash. Thank God , we didnt let that stop us from loving our neighbor.

Oh, Valis, good to hear from ya, we are hoping to make it to the apostofest , so I will sure give him the message.

All my love, and many hugs,,,,,,,,,,,, Dede
