The D.C. area sniper

  I live in Manassas, VA, which is twenty miles from DC. The Serial Sniper killed a man just four miles from where I live, at a Sunoco Gas Station. It is within a half mile of Rt. 66. He doesn't just pick Exxon's for sure. He has hit a man mowing grass, a young school kid being dropped off at school, two different woman shopping in different areas, another man getting gas, an older man waiting to cross a street a night in DC.

  I think it's curious that he has struck two people, that were directly across the street from a State Police sub station. I think he is taunting the authorities by doing that.

  I don't believe it's related to the terrorists from the Middle Eastern area. (I mean, if that were the case, they would hit the gas pump and blow the station up. I don't believe "numbers" mean too much. He is just casually killing people one at a time. Also, I don't believe the person is necessarily driving a white truck. I think someone initially saw a white truck at one of the scenes and now everyone is looking for that type of vehicle.

  This person is not dumb, and has a mission. He is making a statement, and leaving clues. The specialists will try to figure out "his mind". He doesn't even have to be a good shot. The gun does it all. He just has to line the sight up and fire. And he can hit the target dead center from up to 650 ft. away. It seems he is picking out his target areas, setting up, and then waiting until the person walks into his line of fire. Maybe that way, he can perceive that "they asked for it".

  I can tell you this much, with the additional shooting this morning just fifteen miles from here, this is an area in "high anxiety". I hope the situation is concluded soon. I feel that this person is going to be coming down off his/her emotionally superior "high" and facing reality, which will plunge him into facing facts. He knows he will get the death penalty at this point. He will probably want the police to kill him, or he will end up killing himself.

  There is never a clear answer as to "why" serial killers do what they do. Something snaps inside them and they change. They aren't thinking beyond the glory of the moment. This person has had a few of those "moments" in the past week. No doubt he will become a bit too cocky or self assured. And, someone, somewhere KNOWS this person. Information has a way of making itself known. Unfortunately, all of this takes time.

  Contrary to movies, that can't happen...they're designed with valves to not blow up. Another thing, whoever this is, IS a good shot... at 650 yards, even with a scope, you're talking sniper skills. Maybe he is ex-military, although I've heard some speculators say that an ex-military guy probably wouldn't use .223's.

  You're right, though, he's not dumb....very intelligent (but not wise).

  Double Edge: Actually the AK-47 fires the 7.62x39mm round and not the .223 (5.56x45 NATO) round.

  I'm not saying that the sniper is a middle eastern terrorist, just posing a what if that has been on my mind and probably a lot of other peoples' minds as well. To keep the 'what if' going though....What if Al Qaeda is changing their tactics to attack numerous small targets, like randon civilians like the sniper is doing, instead of massive operations against a few large targets?

  In my opinion, it seems that:

  This Sniper (or Snipers) is a Satanist.

  Also, it appears to me that he is actually working for certain people in our own Government, in order to get certain New Gun Laws passed.

  8. October 4, 2:30 pm ...... (indentity withheld) / Caucasian female, 43; shot in the back while loading packages into her car at a Michael's parking lot; in stable condition. Distance from where the victim fell to the closest highway entrance: 1390 feet.

  9. October 7, 8:08 am ...... (identity withheld) / Black male, 13; shot in the chest after being dropped off for school; in critical condition. A shell casing was recovered that police think is related to the shooting. Distance from where the victim fell to the closest highway entrance: 880 feet.

  10. October 9, 8:18 pm ..... Dean Harold Meyers / Caucasian male, 53; shot in the head and KILLED while pumping gas at a Sunoco gas station. Distance from where the victim fell to the closest highway entrance: 940 feet.

  11. October 11, 9:30 pm ..... Kenneth H. Bridges / Black male, 53; shot in the upper torso and KILLED while pumping gas at an Exxon station. A Virginia state trooper, who was only 50 yards away from Bridges at the time, heard the gunshot and ran to help, but never saw the shooter.

  Something came to light in this information that I had not been aware of. A few of these people were killed "while walking"....Incident #2, victim was crossing a parking lot, incident #3, victim was mowing grass, and Incident #7, victim was crossing the street.

  That blows the theory that it's an inexperienced shooter who has to "set up" beforehand, and waits for the target to move into "his" sight. This is someone who right up front, was able to target his victim and follow them as they moved. He was able to kill each of these moving targets. Also, do any of you out there think it's posible for there to be two persons doing this. One driving and one shooting...and who knows, maybe taking turns. I think one is a better shot than the other if this is true.

  The Michael's craft store seems to hold significance, as well as a variety of gasoline stations. So, whether a person is doing a "chore" like mowing grass or vacumming a car, "relaxing" on a bench, "going to school", "shopping", or simply "crossing the street"........none of us are really safe until this evil person is stopped.

  Also, he failed to kill the woman outside of Michael's store on October 4th, so he returned within a mile from that site and struck down victim #11. So much for the theory that he would not return to the same area again.

  Also, I'm looking at the gender and race. Incident #2, victim #1, a Caucasianmale (55)...Incident #3, victim #2, a Caucasianmale (39)...Incident #4, victim #3, an Indian male (54). Then Incident #5, victim #4, a Hispanic female(34)...Incident #6, victim #5, a Caucasianfemale (25). Incident #7, victim #6, a Blackmale (72)...Incident #8, injuredCaucasianfemale (43). And Incident #9, injuredBlackmale (13)...Incident #10, victim #7, Caucasianmale (53)...Incident #11, victim #8, Blackmale (53).

  He is certainly not killing more middle aged Caucasian men than Black. He is definitely killing at gas station areas more. There just does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to his targets and movements, and yet there has to be a message in all of this. We cannot "outguess" him or predict his movements. That's why the stress and anxiety is so high in the entire area. We feel like "targets" no matter where we go or what we do.

  There have been no victims since the 9:30AM (by the way ) murder yesterday in Spotsylvania, Virginia. I have also noticed that the number 8 and 9 plays a big part in the time of death

  I would think that the "thrill" of the kill is beginning to wear thin by now. The murderer must have family and friends. It would also appear that they are busy during the daytime, but available to kill early in the morning and later in the evening. Only one shot was in mid afternoon, at 2:30, which is kind of a "midway" point between the killings. There have been five PM incidents, and five AM incidents. There have been three PM victims and five AM victims. Two surviving--one shot in the back and one shot in the chest. There was just the one victim on day one, October 2nd. Then on day two, there were four victims who were killed within approximately 1/2 hour of each other. Does all of this mean anything? Who knows.

  My husband says I have been watching too many crime shows on TV, and now my imagination is getting away with me. But, hey, perhaps there is "something" in all of this and we need each other to help to try and figure it out.

  Time to get off here and RELAX.

  What the cop and vet were referring to was that the .223 can be used in the AK-47 even though that is not it's regular ammunition. Following is the link to an AK-47 site where you can purchase .223 for the weapon:
