cofty4 minutes agoIsn't it annoying when theists imply that rational people are dull because they don't share their superstitious fantasies?
    Reality is much more inspiring.

Agreed. I am sickened at the 'design' argument too. That we can see the hand of god because there are grand things. what about the awful stuff created? Who's hand is that?

I think the reason I get so het up about it is because I used to believe that rubbish and I am angry at myself. All the things we learn about the universe sits nicely with event1 rather than a magic man in the sky.

The planets are fascinating and tell us so much about our own world. I am only sad that I will not be around if the human race actually gets out there and lands on some of these planets and make astounding discoveries.

yeah, if you are the captain of the crew to get to Pluto, you would be the "Plutocrat"

I wonder if some of you really believe that the fantastic laws, the energy of expansion, and that is massed into matter really created itself. imho That Pluto is held out there, with it's perihelion and aphelion predicted by known laws shows it is a ball game with great rules.

What mankind has achieved in the last 50 years is absolutely astonishing.

The 21st century is a great century to be alive.

What we will achieve in the next 50 years is beyond thought, and i'll be happy i'm alive to see it.

Dare i say a cure to ageing may be on the distant horizon. How about that WT?

I have to say that is a great photo of a planet that is many millions of miles from Earth!

This gave me goosebumps too. I love the heart on this little, dwarf planet.

It reminded me of the Voyager 1 space probe, which launched Sep 15, 1977, turning to take a picture of Earth, the pale blue dot, as Voyager 1 left our solar system Feb 14, 1990. Here is a link to where the Voyager space crafts/probes are now:

    Where are the Voyagers?

I hope we, homo sapiens, never stop exploring and discovering.

The high res photo is being beamed back as we speak.

The signal takes 5 hours to reach Earth and it's speed is a lowly 1Kbps !!!

Yeah... planetary shunning. This ousting of things seems to happen outside of religion as well.

Edited to add: Some of the comments made though about the data collected by New Horizons was that this dwarf planet is actually larger than what they thought. So maybe... just maaaayyybbeeee it will get re-instated into the collective...errr... family... uuummm... whatever.
