That is because you have regained your self-respect, minimus. JWs are such people pleasers rather than God lovers. May you ease on down the rest of your road.

Minimus says he didn't draw pics
hey man you missed out on the days trying to draw all the animals as 2s so that is would be pictorally correct on that stage- the co would invite all the kids from like 4-12 up on stage to explain thier drawing day were the days- smile
Blondie-- says about -3 rating for former elders
i know in some hall they are pissed off cause now they do have all the work esp if you continue to come to the hall - i didn't
-the night i turned in my fock book , letters, keys to the hall to the PO
he said after i told him i was just too busy to do a good job as an elder -he said james you will not be back and with a big ole grind on my face is said
dave i'll be back just need to take care of some obligations in my Biz- as i walked out the door that night i knew my black foot would never cross the sill of another kingdom hall door and man did the rumor mill start
my wife has often been compared to looking like Halley Berry and i agree i got me a good looking woman ( o back to the subject at hand)
anyway the rumor mill started and there were reports that got back to us that i had left Lady "C" for a "White Woman"
we were on the floor dying at all the rumors- i used to handle the money for our circuit and after we left we built a nice size house and the word on the street was james was skimming money from the circuit account
and the rumors go on and on and yes you are dirt smile

minimus, old friend, you said that "The beauty of resigning as an elder is that it was I that made the decision. I have absolutely no qualms about whether I was respected or not. I really don't care what they might think......Never have."
Beautiful, and I did the same, and the reactions were - strange, sort of not being able to believe what they had heard me say etc. I did not agree with the "contact with df'ed family members" thing, and was given some weeks to reconsider and find out what I would do if such a question should be raised again. Of course, everyone (locals and CO and branch) expected me to say that I reconsidered and would follow procedure if such a thing would happen again, in future. But, I said "No!, I'll do the same thing over again, I will not regret the past and will do the same again."
So I continued giving small service talks and having chores to do etc., but "everyone" knew such a "half-favoured position" wouldn't last, because I had stepped down and clearly told why, not just saying it was due to stress or illness or family relations or whatever. Half a year, and they hit - and hit hard.
Now, I'm silent, but I'm waiting, and I'm patient.

When I told them I was moving and leaving the congregation it started to get real cold. Then when they started calling to find out my new cong. I gave em one, sent their book back and they had to tear up the nice letter of recommendation and write another. After some foolishness from the new cong. I decided I was going to take Tuesdays and Thursdays off.

I was approached 6 mths. after my resignation by the elders to see if I was ready to come back. I laughed and said "I'll let you know when I"m ready. Now enjoy your elder's meeting". The puzzled looks are the best!

Minimus, Blondie, et al...
All so true; you become a nonentity EXCEPT if any of the locals still consider you one of the few they can confide in because of your ''level-headedness'' and ``balance.'' That will get you back on their radar scope, and pronto!

The CO wanted me axed as an MS because of my low FS hours. The elders talked him out of it because of my personal family situation: "unbelieving mate", and always brought my three little kids to the meetings. Of course the CO wouldn't think to ask about my personal life. He doesn't give a flying fornication.

I was removed as an MS becuase of low FS hours. C.O was very cool to me..The elder body dont give me
the time of day now. I cant even count how many times memeber of the elder body just walk on
by me in the hall without a simple Hello or How you doing.......I just sit back and laugh as the other MS
are giving Hightlights and Instruction talks every other week.....Hmm when will my next school part

When I resigned as an MS and stopped attending meetings, I waited for the elders's visit.
I thought I was a zealous JW and calmed down to zero they simply must come to see me and ask me how they could "help" me.
I really had a good relationship with the PO and the CO.
One day the CO and the PO really appeared. They introduced themselves by telling me that
they came because my wife had asked them to.
I must admit I was very disappointed. They would not have come if my wife had not asked them to.

Those were some wild rumors man. Would it have been ok if you ran of with another black woman? Or with a white man?
