a crafter!
I have sequins glued to my forehead, paint on my legs, and various craft articles strewn about me. I think I may have sewn some ribbion to my shorts...*spins in a circle to check*
Ok I guess I don't hate crafters. I just dislike painted birdhouses with silk flowers coming out of them.
But this year I have decided to take a stab at it. It's sort of fun. However I am too anal to really enjoy it and I sweat every tiny detail and feel convinced I am going to do it wrong and ruin the whole project. I am really getting in a christmas mode. And I am becoming another type of person I hate: people who start planning for the holidays in october. (But this is my first time celebrating, I am allowed to be giddy, early, and over zealous with my holiday fancy, and besides I used to be a joyless bitter dub child who NEVER got presents--I had a reason to hate festive joyful people) Prior to this the only other crafty thing I have done was a quilt for my nephew. Pictured below: (It's a giant sun)
So those of you who are my friends here. Be kind to me. I promise no painted birdhouses, nor maccoroni picture frames spray painted gold. But please pretend to enjoy the crap I am passing off as gifts this year to you all.
Any other crafters here? What do you do, by that I mean your craft of choice (appologies to those of you who paint birdhouses and stuff them with silk flowers)? How do you do it, by that mean devote so much time effort and space to your craft of choice? Do you ever get over the fretting of "ahh crap how am I going to do this??"
(On a sidenote: I made a t-shirt for my friend. It just has APOSTATE written across the chest. He was never a dub, he just finds the word and concept hillarious. So I promised him a shirt for Christmas. He was very giddy, but I think he wants to scare my parents.)
