I would not be too sure that these old rules would still be applied, unless they have been repeated recently. Most of the current elders would not have heard of them. -

If you as a witness OWN a business, such as a contracting business, you arnt allowed to work for a religious organization "AND KEEP PRIVLIDGES" (not yelling just emphasizing)
Evidently(TM), that depends on the local BOE, as there is a very wealthy prominent Elder in our area that often does work in churches. I asked him personally about it since he is full owner of the biz. He said he's not about to turn down work anywhere and if he was questioned about it, he'd [jokingly] claim he's never made a profit off of churches. Fact is, he knows that as long as he keeps it below the radar, no one will give him trouble. Many other JWs work for him and no one seems to care where the money for their paychecks is from.

Why sell something dedicated to Jehovah for pure worship to Babylon the great????

Here's another one. We know an elders wife (along with 3 more of their immediate family) who are professional photographers. Their main niche market is weddings. Nearly every weekend they are on location inside the various churches taking pics and making big money.
