: An ironic after-thought came to mind. Sometimes the very people on this site who are quick to charge Bill with "slander" and "libel" themselves enjoy freedom of speech in criticizing others.
That is a great leap to try to tie slander/libel and criticism together as if they were the same or nearly the same thing. Haven't you learned ANYTHING about logic in all those years I've tried to guide you?
So if Bill decides to choose pure Bible wisdom, it is really "fine" with you, huh? IslandWoman, you're a card.
How in the blazes did you "deduce" that from my post! I did not say that at all. You are putting words in my mouth. Walk me through again will you?
Ok, again I quote you:
IslandWoman wrote: BTW, this has nothing to do with the Bible it has to do with common decency and/or smart politics. Whichever BB chooses is fine with me.
"Whichever BB chooses is fine with me" seemed to give Bill three choices that you consider fine:
the Bible
common decency
smart politics
Now, I surmise that you really only considered as "fine" the last two of the above three choices, and do not consider "the Bible" as a fine choice. Furthermore, you actually contrast the Bible with common decency in your comment, when in fact common decency is rare because few people today adhere to Bible principles.
I wish Farkel were here to explain your post to me cause, well, ya left me in a fog. I know that may not be too hard to do but geez, I feel as if this conversation is taking place on a merry-go-round. Getting off for now.
Farkel ruminated:That is a great leap to try to tie slander/libel and criticism together as if they were the same or nearly the same thing. Haven't you learned ANYTHING about logic in all those years I've tried to guide you?
Farkel, I'll have to applaud your talent at verbal brake dancing. Translate that talent to the dance floor and you could take the San Diego clubs by storm. You put a deft spin on my post, and made it appear as if I was comparing libel and slander to criticism. In fact, my post made quite the opposite point. I was trying to help certain people here who accused Bill of slander and libel to understand that Bill made nothing more than comments that amounted to criticism protected under free speech.
Read my lips Farkel and friends: BILL NEVER ENGAGED IN SLANDER OR LIBEL. I challenge you to bring forth an attorney who is willing to adhere to the standards set forth by COJ and then willing to tell Bill to his face through a post that he committed slander or libel. Of course nobody will, and the whole line of accusations against Bill will eventually die like a toad under the wheels of a big rig, and I rest my case.
