For an ex-jw to go through life without thinking of themselves or referring to themselves as an ex-jw? How many ex-buddist do you know?

No so much the ones born into it, but the ones who convert and then leave may be able to see it as a phase in their lives of little significance.
I for one, being third gen, will always be an exjw. Especially since I have family who are still in.

I only refer to myself by that term with a select group of people. In reality, I never hardly mention it. On here though it fit. I do not self title myself as a Ex-Jw.

Good question. I think I'll always think of myself as a ex JW. I was raised Catholic and was a catholic more years than I was a JW but I don't think of myseslf as an Ex Catholic, in fact I hardly ever even think about it. Being a JW affected my life in such a huge way. It touched every aspect of my life. It is so much more than just a religion. I can't even articulate it, but I think you guys know what I mean.

I have a JW girlfriend, who still says she is a Catholic. Once a Catholic, always a Catholic.
I know what she means, when she says it. I'm sure she wouldn't say in front of a dub.
I do not identify myself as an ex JW. If anyone asks me my religion, I say I don't have one. If they press me, I might say I used to be a JW. Then they ask questions, and I just don't want to go that way anymore, so I avoid it if possible.
