The decline of the JWs has been discussed before in bits and pieces. I thought I would summarize some of the "signs of the times". 1. There is been no growth in 24 internet connected countries. In these countries, the religion has become a revolving door. 2. Baptisms have dropped by an alarming 50% in the last ten years in these aforementioned countries. Since baptisms are a leading indicator of future growth or deline, this means that zero growth will turn into decline in the near future. 3. Average meeting attendance is at 60 - 70%. In past years the average was about 90%. Thus, even among the believers, enthusiasm is at a new low. 4. Years ago, the average memorial attendance was about 10% higher than the average number of publishers. That meant that the loyal and their studies attended. Today, memorial attendance is more than twice as high as the number of publishers. I take this to mean that the religion had reached the point that there are a lot of nominal believers, much like other churches. Taking all this into account, leads me to believe that the religion is on a slow fade to oblivion.

Moew evidence- possibly. Last week, while at home the JWs went through my neighborhood. Did not even realize this until I was leaving the house. They never rang the bell. Just left mags in the door. In fact they left a mag at every door on the street. Must have come up very quietly in fact because my dog did not even bark and he barks at the wind.....

I remember a poineer sister did that when I went out in service. She has about 40 magazines she didn't place and she went to peoples cabins and put them in the doors. She counted them as being placed. They were not going to get them in about 2 months ...lol

Good stuff! Even the Watchtower has inadvertently demonstrated its desperation at the coming decline by fudging the counting methods of hourly requirements. This year may see a slight resurgence because of it, but the leading indicators are all good!

I sincerely hope that the WTS is on the decline. I don't have anything against religion as a whole, but the hatred and intolerance that is taught by the WTS is terrible.
I hope that as the numbers drop, people will talk about it. As it is in human nature, that kind of talk will bring the person down too, and their excitement level, and belief level will not be as it was. This in turn brings out less field service, less personal study, and eventually the WTS numbers go even lower.
With the spare time an individual witness would now have by not going out in service as much, maybe missing some meetings, perhaps they will find more time to be on the internet, and find out what really is going on.
