My wife had a lecture today at University, Australian Aboriginal studies.

The lecturer had last week given out some Aboriginal artifacts made by some Aborigines in prison. There were not enough to go around so my wife didn't get one last week. The deal was that each student keeps it for a week then passes it on to the next student.

So today she was given one of the boomerangs, which was last week given to another student. This student was hit by a car while riding his motorcycle yesterday. He is OK, has a minor leg injury. The motorcycle is a complete wreck. He limped into class today on crutches and handed the boomerang over.

Its a small boomerang, painted in black with some white designs on it.

On the way home today, my wife had a car accident. She is not hurt but the car is smashed! The other driver had a slight chest injury, was taken to hospital.

Would anyone like to look after a small black boomerang for a little while?

PS I am not making this story up.....we have just arrived home after I rescued her with our other car.

eewwwww....no thanks Pope. Natives and their demonized objects...ewwww...they have probably danced and sung high pitched songs in a wailing monotone kind of chant while they blessed the object...ewwwww...you can keep it Pope.

Thanks for the concern, Beck and LDH! Wife is OK just upset, a bit shaky.

We are trying to think of who we can give the boomerang to as a gift.!! Ha ha! And not tell them about its evil power.

My wife suggested I give it to my Mum! Ha ha! Its a good idea but she doesn't drive anymore. Maybe I should "donate" it to the WTS!!!

Reminds me of that play we did at school, The Monkeys Paw. Geez, that play gave me the creeps when I was young.....

I have never been bothered by them spooky critters the tower called deminz...never affected me...must be the native in me...my powerful omens or something LOL. So if you want to lend me your boomerang thingie, I'll dig a hole out the back and bury it - just in case

Sorry your wife is a bit shaken up...I hope she's not driving on Melbourne streets, that puts me in danger, she's a high risk on the roads while she's babysitting Jabuubuulongamarijuna's totem thing.

After some contemplation, Andy and I have decided that we would like to adopt your boomerang. We have considered the fact that in each circumstance there have been no fatalities, however the vehicles involved have been written off. With this in mind, as well as the fact that Andy's Daewoo (nicknamed "Piece of Sh*t Car") is a worthless lump of junk that should be in car heaven, we have come to the conclusion that you would be doing us a service to let us look after your boomerang thingie.

Alternatively, while your wife's car is in the repair shop, she is welcome to use Andy's Daewoo until such time as she has to hand over the boomerang to the next person
