Start their own country?
Sure....
Let's round them all up and exile them into one country for themselves. Let them live in the Stone Age while we are flourishing with modern technology. Let them have their little or lack of health care while we can enjoy our healthcare benefits (vaccines and blood transfussion). More importantly, let's see how they are gonna financially sustain the country while not associating with the rest of the world.
OH... I can see that they will be no match for a terrorist attack or invasion if they are invaded. LOL

Sports (mainly football, basketball, and baseball) are my #1 interest, I am very passionate about these sports. My parents tried their best to keep me out of sports. They broke down once when I was in about the 6th grade, they let me play pee-wee baseball. It was the best time of my life. I was a starter on a team that made it to the regional tournament but when the tourney came I didnt get to play because we were moving on the same day as the game. They never let me join another team. When I was in 7th grade, I was the ONLY boy in my class that wasnt on the football team.
I was hounded in high school to play football/baseball by coaches who saw my talent but unfortunately my dipshit parents "loved" me too much to let me get involved. Instead, my time was filled with...nothing. Our house was located between the school and the practice field so twice a day I had to watch the team walk past my house. It was like my own personal hell.
I will never understand the people and policies that had to do with keeping me away from what I love. My mother (to this day) makes no apologies for keeping me out of football as she thinks its too violent. This is the same woman who forced a pillow over my head as a child and beat me with a broomstick.
I sorta hope there is a hell. om

They'd never establish their own colony, for one VERY important reason: it would be a direct test of their assertion that they can run a happy, prosperous, paradisical Kingdom of God on Earth. As we all know, they wouldn't last five minutes without the rich pluralist societies in which they live to parasitise. When a JW study was looking at being President of Zambia, we all had this discussion, that this would be an easy way for the 'Tower to establish a colony for itself. The Tower didn't take the opportunity offered it, however, IMO quite wisely. After all, Zambia is already Hell on Earth.

Dear Diary,
Some interesting things are about to happen as regards us faithful adherents of Jeh... er, Adonai, it would seem. One of the newly discovered planets, Phloon, is the subject of an application currently before the ASW (Association of Settled Worlds). The applicant would like Phloon to be a world where the members of various religious groups can settle freely in areas set aside for each religion. The applicant has been likened to a modern day William Penn, but as we JWs... er AWs, are not encouraged to study history, I don't know what they mean. Anyway, since the AWs and their pets number 6 million, we have a good chance of securing a piece of Phloon for Adonai's glory. I'm a bit worried though. We've always condemned Earthly (and Glurkly) governments as evil. If we start a country of our own with our own government, won't we be part of Satan's system? I asked the SO (Solar System Overseer) about it; he said that it will the opportunity for Adonai's people to begin building the foretold Paradise before Armageddon even happens! When Fredbert heard this he muttered something about "postmillennialism". I wish that darned cat would speak more plainly, sometimes!
There are already some settlers on outposts near Phloon, and since there is no subspace or hyperspace infrastructure in place in those outlying regions, we have to physically visit them in spaceships. Most groups have a designation for the ships belonging to that group such as SS and USS. Ours is "FS", standing for "Field Service". Fredbert and I took the FS Paradise Glurk out today on field service to an energy capturing and transmission station in low orbit around a star in a solar system which has no habitable planets. There's a bit of a rugged frontier style feel to the place. Fredbert as usual did the presentation. One man, whose been away from Glurk for a few months felt a little homesick when Fredbert showed him the article in AWake! (clever how the Society incorporated our new initials into that title!) on the wildlife of Glurk. It was kind of embarrassing, however, when the guy pointed out that the picture labelled "Lesser Spotted Swamp Beast" was actually a Candeluvian Slime Camel. Fredbert was able to brilliantly divert attention away from this and back on to the subject of the near winding up of this present system of things. I also nearly got into some difficulty when I tried to lure some 3 year old kids out of their living quarters with some boiled lollies, so they could hear the truth. Their evil, death bound parents almost beat me up, and I managed to talk my way out of it when station security turned up (well, Fredbert did).
On the way back home in the FS Paradise Glurk, I had an uncomfortable feeling that I'd seen all this somewhere before. Then I remembered that damned apostate TR and a picture he'd done of me in field service in a spaceship! Darned if he didn't get it almost exactly right, may Adonai curse his apostate smart ass! Well, back at the AW starport in New Brooklyn on Glurk, all the witnesses who'd been out on service that day had wonderful stories to inspire the brothers and sisters. It seems three magazines were sold... er, placed!!

While the problems about the religion that you mention are true, to deny them the liberties that all other groups in this country enjoy is going a little far. I think that most of the posts are tongue in cheek about banishing them to an island or whatever but sometimes we can caught up in a prejudice that isn't fair, legal or christian. The United States of America is a free country after all. Freedom of religion is one of the things that the founding fathers made sure was available to all. No one says you have to vote. No one says you have to be politcally involved. They choose to remain neutral in these affairs, so be it. No harm done. There are worse groups to worry about. It worries me a little when so many jump on a bandwagon about shipping a group of people out of a country, whether JWs, blacks, jews or any other group that doesn't fit in with some persons "idea" of being a true American.
Again, if all these earlier posts were meant to be humorous, then I am overreacting and I apologize, but I just wanted to voice an opinion on the side of freedom.

After reading the last response over and over again, I have to agree. However sending them to a island would be tough, maybe we could have them talk directly with past war time vets. This way JW's could explain why they care not to appreciate or respect the flag. In my eyes, the flag represents freedom and American's live by this freedom. I would assume that JW's do not want freedom if they can't respect what this country has went through to get there.
As for the children, I truly feel sorry. Ripping them out of public schools and secluding them does not help a Childs development. How can a child be normal if all you teach them is crazy beliefs? What's up with that?
As for nonjwalltheway, I think he has bigger problems at home. I bet his wife is cutting him off over these arguements. Maybe he should consider outside help.

As is normal practice, the jws use two sets of standards, one for them and one for you.
As they actively consume all freedoms gained through others' sacrifice, they also actively walk all over your freedom to religion in their duty to seek entry into your life for the purpose of either changing your religion, or else render you anxious. There is neither respect nor acceptance of your state - I consider myself at war with them, over the issue of freedom of religion.
