They clearly have done plenty of research and have gotten good advice and the scoop on how the Borg functions. I would guess Steven Unthank based on his past activism in Australia on this issue, but haven't heard his name in connection with these current hearings, though.

These men were so complacent about their past "wins" in courts around the world that they forgot about the other side of the legal coin. This is what has happened. The Royal Commission starts softly,softly as a prelude to the inevitably harder questions. Documents are perused, the WT men are lulled by past victories and have failed to take into account that evidence is there. Hard copy evidence, with their signatures....it's all there. This is the style adopted and it is has been gratifying to watch these mad men believe that they could disarm the commission based upon some frail belief that god would back them to the hypocritical hilt. And now? They are starting to experience what it feels like to be exposed and forced into acknowledging their own bloody signatures. It is amazing and at the same time tragic, then liberating......it's a scary journey to defend oneself after so long in the dark.
I have so much to say from what I have seen, it is heartening to me for all of us who suffered, to feel the weight of legal, moral clarity entering into this investigation.

I feel for him. He was so much a part of why this happened. Some people like to call him names, but I know he took the hard path with no support. He went to court alone, he refused to be cast aside by the courts. This man was very pertinent to what is now happening. I feel sorry and sad for this man. I wish him the very very best.

I've just finished watching them being torn to shreds by the Ozzie judge and the South African guy. The elders' low intelligence and general incompetence have completely outshone any arrogance, believe me.

Pretty sure this wouldn't be happening if not, at least in part, due to Unthank's past efforts.

It sounds strange, but one of the fundamental aspects of ideologically-based authoritarian regimes are their inherent incompetence.
Exceptions are actually very rare.
