"OMG, how do I answer this and not get myself jailed?"

"OMG, how do I answer this and not get DF'd?"

"OMG, how do I answer this and not make the GB look bad?"

"OMG, how do I not bring reproach on this "Biblical, oh so better than the world's stupid laws, and Jehovah's name?"

"OMG, I forgot about the other kids"

Come on GB where are you - would Jesus hide away while his poor foot soldiers got the blame for his actions? Would Jesus leave victims hanging with no support or love?

I am thinking the same thing.

If I were a member of the governing body Wild horses wouldn't be able to hold me back from testifying and coming to the aid of those under me! I am sure god's sole channel of communication (the GB) will put all of those lawyers to shame.

A number of posters have commented on the embarrassing and clumsy way the JW elders/representatives have presented themselves on these hearings. Totally agree. But I would argue that it wouldn't matter which elder they picked, GB member, Jesus, or God himself, etc. to provide testimony.

Their position is fundamentally absurd and immoral. When your position is indefensible it does not matter who presents it.

CORRECTION, folks. I believe this is from Day 3 of the testimony, not day 2.

Wow I thought the video had frozen there for a minute but it was just a very big silence while he thought of a response!

This is what happens to people that are isolated from the world and told they are better. Truly delusional people and this guy never saw it coming these types of questions.

I felt bad that he was made to squirm. But when I look at the blonde in the background and see her facial expressions of disapproval and disbelief at what the elder is saying I just have to laugh! It's hitting him now, he's never had to reason how the WT with its policies care little about victims of abuse.

I believe that blonde is counsel for the WT. or at least she's very chummy and chatty with WT counsel. I wonder if she is having second thoughts at all given some of her expressions.

That just went right through me. I'm ashamed to admit that I never thought of that point that he made. Why? Because that religion creates narcissists that cannot see past themselves, their own feelings, and those outside are just background noise at best and dangerous the rest of the time. I recently posted about this in a thread on the subject. JWs don't even know what love is. They cannot see others, cannot mirror them. They are lost in their own little cult. I'm ashamed to say that I was once like that. I'm heartbroken at what the Borg does to human beings in filling their humanity away. Tough watch, though there was something enthralling about watching the organization get exposed.

Cult thinking makes perfect sense inside their own bubble.

What we are seeing here is the agony of having your perverse beliefs exposed to objective scrutiny, and he can't dismiss the interrogator by appealing to his self-assumed authority.

It is delicious and I have not one iota of sympathy.
