"Don't you love Jehovah anymore then ?"

I'm very interested in hearing Mrs. Phizzy's response. But here is how I would have responded:

"Of course I still love Jehovah! Why would you think a person can't love Jehovah unless they attended JW meetings, specifically. I distinctly recall when I was studying to get baptized, that it was said that ones baptism is in symbol of a dedication made to God and not to an organization. In light of that I find it rather odd that many JWs assume that persons who no longer associate with the JW organization have abandoned God. A person's dedication to God is independent of any organization, right? Or is it that Watchtower teaches one thing and JWs believe another?"

In reply to the idiotic question, as they were talking in a Supermarket aisle, Mrs Phizzy, who unlike me is still a believer in god, replied "Oh yes I certainly love god, I cannot discuss our reasons for leaving right now, it would take too long, but suffice to say, we left for good reasons, and not because anyone upset us, I hope you have a good weekend". This last bit made me smile.

The JW lady had already said that "This Service Year has been awful", so I couldn't see her having a good time at the R.C.

I hope we get a chance to talk with her again, but she may now avoid us, we shall see.

Jw's even take it a step further sometimes. Not only was I accused of not loving jehovah anymore, I was accused of worshipping satan.

Now that's hilarious! When it first happened to me I was real upset and angry. But the last time someone told me this, i just couldn't help it but I started cracking up uncontrollably. The kids that were with the couple starting laughing to and the couple was very upset. Finally one of the kids told the brother, "Don't you see how silly you sound saying this brother worships SAtan? I believe the couple finally realized how stupid they sounded. And the brother retracted what he said. I do wonder what happen to those kids!!

My answer would be, "My faith and spirituality have never been stronger, and my understanding is so much clearer now, thank you."

I like the kind of answers above, they leave the door open for more discussion, and the JW cannot simply label you an Apostate, they have nothing to go on.

But even with more discussions, you still have to cut through the Mind Control.

I wish I could have seen that.

Why would anyone want to love a god that wants them enslaved and damned?

I had a elder's wife ask me once when I was coming back to Jehovah? I looked at her puzzled and said I never knew I left Jehovah? I don't understand what in the world you are talking about. If you are wondering when I am coming back to meetings that would be when pedophiles are not allowed to go door to door any more and not hold children and interact with everyone the way they are now without parents being warned to at the very least watch their children.

She just said you need to wait on Jehovah and not jump ahead like you are. I swear you can not get through to these people. I just told Jehovah would never harm children like this and I am not jumping head by taking a clear stand especially when I was demanded by a CO to take a level 3 sex offender door to door, so you can believe what you want but not only is it morally wrong but even the law says that child molesters should not go door to door and I just do not have the money to pay if I got sued over it. I have to make a stand for what is right and to be true to myself that is what Jehovah is asking of me and that is what I am doing. I am sorry you feel that I have left Jehovah but I have not.

She just looked at me blankly and changed the subject.

They asked why we missed meetings.... Jeh isnt the one who offended us? I said to the elder we haven't left him, in fact we read the bible more than you and discuss it everyday. He just smiled. Which is true. Look at how we apoststes know our bibles. When we left Bethel we had to tell them, it's not like we've left Jehovah! We were one step ahead before they asked. And that was that. Like you said "have a nice day!"
