Yes -- I shared in the mid-term American elections. And my polling place was a big old Lutheran church -- yes, right there where Babylon the Great plays the whore to the politicians!! LOL
The process was very unintimidating, but the task of choosing who our leaders will be seemed heavy. Fortunately I searched the internet sites for the majority of the candidates and brought my little "checklist" with me so that I would remember for whom to vote.
The two biggest races are for US Senator -- as in who will replace the late Paul Wellstone: will it be his fellow democrat and ex-US Vice President Walter Mondale, or will it be the Republican candidate Norm Coleman? And who will replace ex-wrestler Jesse "The Body" Ventura as governor of the great state of Minnesota? Will it be someone from his "Independence" party, or will the voters return to the traditional Democratic or Republican parties?
I was glad to share in this exercise in representative democracy.
I didn't see any JW's there. I wonder if their consciences can permit them to vote? Or is that still a no-no here in the USA but okay in others?
