my my, someone must feel awfully threatened by SilentLambs to exert time and energy in such nonsense.

as computer illiterate as I am, I'm aware that prank sites can trace users when the service is abused, and they will trace you sooner or later......

I always check my mail before I do anything online. I had a letter from Bill about this false info and the UK march. I new nothing about it, and I recieved no email about the death or money.

I am glad that he sent the email about it, cause if I would have heard he died, I probably would have broke into tears and been calling his house to make sure.

I emailed all the links that Rev posted----------this is what i wrote----------------

An email was sent out stating Silenlambs (an organization supporting victims of abuse, mainly sexual) was dead, and made the insinuation that the founder--Bill Bowen had died and 5am today.

Another was sent asking for large amounts of money to keep this organization up and going.

I want this person found and prosecuted. What a terrible thing to do to abuse victims and survivors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus extorting money from these people is criminal and needs to be dealt as such.

hosttoday.net was not the isp where the e-mail came from, that part of the header was faked, however you can't fake the ip address. Never trust the hostname in the header, never ever. My e-mail sever will tell me automatically if it's fake, by doing a lookup on the ip address, if it doesn't match, it added (maybe forged) into the header. BTW the ISP is in Texas.

The isp that e-mail was sent from, I suggest everyone send any e-mail that got this, with the header to [email protected]

Ok Firstly I AM the Webmaster for www.sharpmail.co.uk (check my email address its for the domain) I have received many complaints about this email, and I will be dealing with it. It does, as pointed out, breach out Terms of Use.

However please do not send any further complaints regarding this email, It is making my job much more difficult as I have to scan through the emails to find complaints that may be different and require my attention.

Of course this email was in very bad taste, and the member who sent it will be Banned by there email address, IP address and Username.

I would ask that the immediate person involved ie silentlamb to contact me [email protected] and I will lease with him personally. I would be grateful if you would include "PMA - 9310" in the subject line somewhere.

Please accept my deapest apologies, I did not develop the site for this use, and hope you understand there will be always people who try to cause havoc by misusing services available to them.

A fake E-mail address is what hurt so many earlier. Who knows how many more may become upset? Those who have not yet logged onto this site. They may still open an E-mail in the near future that may cause momentary upset.
