  Perhaps the reason why I have "passion" against the org..is because I was niave(sp) and once believed this religion.....always hearing that they protect child victims of abuse.Which they don't...only the name of the org is in their best intrest.They had me in fear..of armageddon,I always felt I wasn't good enough for the org.I always had some lingering doubts of their teachings and that had me in fear that I'm going to die during armageddon.So I left because I couldn't live the life of a JW.As well many yrs later hearing of the poo poo of the teachings.... false prophicies(SP!!!!)So called "new lights" from God,changing in doctrine.does that sound like "truth to you"? The hyprocrites that they are......when you realized that you were once sucked in and controled by this..you tend to have an attitude with the WTS.

  This is nothing against you,I have no anger towards you or many JW's in general.

  If you want completely objective information, you should read something like "Religion in America" or some sort of textbook like that.

  But to answer your question, JWs are a religious cult pure and simple. Look up the definitions of a cult on a google search. The JWs fit each and every aspect of those definitions.

  Buck, you have said several times that you find ex-JWs to be disproportionaly intense in their feelings toward their former religion. I would ask you to consider that in itself as a very telling indictment of the JW religion. Almost any ex-JW site will end up being an anti-JW site. This is because the JW religion demands nearly inhuman sacrifices of its flock including alienation of family, preventable sacrifice of life, and utter submision to authority in everything. Once a member forces him- or herself to realize the inconsistancies, contradictions, and hypocracy rife withing the organization, they come to the painful understanding that all of their heart wrenching and supremely difficult sacrifices were for nothing whatsoever. That can breed quite a bit of hatred and anger.

  I would just repeat again that most ex-jws do not hate Jehovah's Witnesses, we hate the organization, the Watchtower Society, and the beliefs taught by the WT.

  Whoa! I didn't say I have studies jw's...I said I had found it difficult to find impartial information.

  To be in a position to provide information about JW's organisation you would need to have knowledge of their teaching, organisation etc. To have knowledge about the JW's system generally invokes strong feelings. The doctrine, control and constant battering to do better (by persons mostly without empathy, more often than not leaves people feeling useless, sometimes depressed and almost always opressed. Once these feelings start to be dealt with by the individual and a more balanced frame of mind returns feelings towards the JW orgainsiation tend to boil over.

  I doubt you will find acurate impartial information. You may find impartial but I doubt very much that it wil be acurate the subject does not lend itself to this.

  I suspect that if you had spent years in an organization and found, that org had caused many negative things in your life that were easily preventable, then you would feel the same as this group?

  Wronged, mislead, manipulated, dominated, and some cases even abused. Most of these people on this site are quite smart even though they have been mislead with e rroneous information for much of their life.

  This society that many on this site were a part of took the responsible position of spiritual guide and misused this power greatly. This position of complete control of ones spirituallity covers many fine details of life. Details that most orgs stay out of like oral sex and who you should marry, and how you should shop for your groceries, takes on a quiet a load of responsibility.

  The society has blindly spent the last few decades dictating to their congregations and misapplying many points of the Bible. This has come back to them by many falling away. The stats are plain, there are more X-JW's than are currently reporting field service.

  The feelings are strong? Read on and get back to us all later......

  The jw issue really just ticks me off. Who in the hell do they think that they are? Gods servants. Not my God! One does not do evil to others whom do not do evil to them in the name of a good god. JW's hurt anyone that speaks against them. And have no correls about hurting innocent people to try and get at that person.

  To that point that as the jw's in my little puny (really) part of the world choose to target me as a example to all others that dare to leave the org. Mind you someone else left not me. For years people who pretended to be so loving were really screwing me behind my back. I felt like it was a conspiracy. And it was! I had promised my in laws that I would not go to internet sites or read books that were critical of the jw's because they are "bias" they asked me to look at things from thier point of view first. Which I did. This included talking to people who have left.

  I saw all JW material was completely bias. To the point of black propaganda. I think that 10 years is a pretty good head start for the dub side. But that was not good enough. I refused to do the indoctrination part. For that I was labled a stupid bigot. All I ever did was be kind to these people and they crapped all over me. I had the nerve to tell them that they can not indoctrinate my children. THE NERVE!

  Now this is not a bitching post I do have a point. This year I read COC and started looking at so called "apostate" (I dislike that word) sites. Every site I went to there were experinces just like mine and far worse. I thought that my son being hit a few times by father in law was a one time occurence and isolated to him. It is not, JW men hitting women and children is a common occurence. In fact it is expected. It is called "keeping them in line." I heard that a lot. But I had no idea it was part of the secret language. Oh ya they have a language all their own. And words that have one meaning to the world have different meanings to the jw's. And the sex abuse scandal is at least as bad as the Catholic one. Probably much worse.

  (To the above I have since learned that this 6' 180lbs man hit my 3 year old maybe a half dozen times that I did not know about He also hit my wife as she was growing up....One day he and I will discuss this behavior on an=scale) But, I hope to never see him again. I have made is clear as crystal that he is not welcome at my home nor is any jw.

  Reading and studing freely I know that the JW's are nothing but a control group that think they own God. And that is really pathetic.

  Again Buck I ask you what do you know of them?You say the world is soooo mean to them. Ever wonder why that is the appearence? The hostility is not physical for the most part; Do you find critical information bias because it is critical? It is hard to find truth in a lie if you know that you are being lied to.

  The fact is most of the people that I talk to that have dealings with the jw's and left have suffered AT THE HANDS OF THE JEHOVAH WITNESSES!!!!

  The reason that so much of the information is so anti Jehovah Witness is because they really are that bad!!!

  Jehovah's Witnesses, for the most part, is a group of well-meaning, misguided people who have had their belief in God and their belief in The Bible as His inspired word, exploited thru manipulation of carefully selected scriptural texts and skillful presentation of superficially rational, but pathetically unsubstantiated arguments, by a small group of self-centered, self-serving, egotistical control freaks, who have convinced them that they are God's exclusive channel of communication and, hence, have His authorization to dictate every action and thought in the life of any and every true Christian, under fear of everlasting destruction for any who fail to obey and conform the dogma they set forth as His so-called, "faithful and discreet slave"!

  I was raised a JW and was zealously active until my mid-thirties. A pretty good chunk of my life was gone before I began to understand the difference between truth and "the truth". I'm sixty now.
