I have many favorite recipes and I thought we could get as many recipes as we could and maybe have enough to compile a recipe booklet. one of my favorites is my STUFFING

1 LOAF OF ANY BREAD THAT YOU LIKE SOMETIMES I MIX DIFFERENT BREADS AN BUNS THE BIGGER THE TUURKEY THE MORE THE BREAD SO YOU WOULD MAKE IT MORE

1 LARGE ONION CHOPPED FINELY AND LIGHTLY SAUTED UNTILED TRANSLUSANT

2 OR 3 CLOVES OF GARLIC

CHICKEN BOULLION , BUTTER, AND BOILING WATER, ABOUT A CUP I MIX THIS ALL IN A GLASS AND STIR TOGETHER AND THEN I ADD IT UNTIL THE BREAD BECOMES MOIST AND YET NOT MUSHY

FRESH THYME , OREGANO AND A SPRIG OF ROSEMARY REMOVED FROM STEMS. DON'T OVER KILL WITH ROSEMARY.

    SALT AND PEPPER

AND POULTRY SEASONING AND BECAUSE FOR YEARS I HAVE MADE STUFFING I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT AMOUNT I JUST GO BUY TASTE SO IF YOU ARE WILLING TO TASTE I KNOW I USE A COUPLE OF LARGE HEAPING SPOONS FOR A HUGE TURKEY.

STUFF TURKEY BACK AND FRONT AND ONCE AGAIN ADD A DAB OF BUTTER ON THE STUFFING BEFORE CLOSSING OVER.

ENJOY THIS STUFFING. IT WAS MY GRANDMOTHERS RECIPE AND HER MOTHER RECIPE.

    LOVE ORANGEFATCAT.

I like Susan Stanberg's (from NPR) recipe for cranberry sauce:

1 pound of raw cranberrys ground in food processor mixed with
    8 oz sour cream
    1 tblspn horseradish
    1 tblspn sugar
    1 small onion, chopped fine

Sounds terrible, but I've made it for the last ten years and it's always a hit.

To go with this, I always FRY a turkey. I fry it in peanut oil for 3.5 minutes a pound.

We tried an experiment the first year we fried a turkey. We fried one, and we roasted one the traditional manner. The fried one took 48 minutes. The roasted one took 5 hours. At the end of the day, there was NONE of the fried turkey left. However, MOST of the roasted one was still sitting forlornly on the platter. That fried turkey is the best tasteing I've ever had, and it doesn't heat up the kitchen. Turkey frying kits are available in most Ace hardware stores and all over the place in general. Highly recommend you try frying your turkey this year. You won't be sorry.

Mix dry and molasses mixture then chill for 2-3 hours.

    Heat oven 375*.

    Grease bakingsheet

Divide dough into 3rds (keep 2/3 in refrig until ready to roll out)

Lightly flour boarad and roll dough 1/4", Cut with floured cutter. Add eyes, buttons etc before baking

    frost after baking.

Bake 10-12 min Cool sightly then cool on a wire rack.

orangefatcat...........my recipe for stuffing is similar.........all in my head though. To yours I would add:
    5 large celery stalks, chopped
    1 bunch green onions, chopped
    1 bunch parsley, chopped.
Saute all together in 2 cubes melted butter, with the large chopped onion and garlic.
Add 2 cans of waterchestnuts (chop them) to this mess.
(I use a deep skillet to make this)

I usually make a lot of stuffing, because I have a large group when I make turkeys, and then you have lots for leftovers. I mix the stuffing in a garbage bag. Dump the bread cubes (if I guy cubes, it's about 4 packages) into the bag, the herbs you mentioned (very little rosemary), including a generous portion of sage, then the cooked veggies (let them cool off pretty well, or you might get holes in the bag), then add the boullion mix, including two beaten eggs. My husband always does this part. Twist the bag shut, and shake it vigourously to mix well. Add more liquid if it seems dry.

I have also added a pan of homemade cornbread to this recipe. Crumble it into the bread crumbs before you add the veggies. To me this is the best dressing ever. I have people who call me every year for this recipe. One gal promised she was writing it down this time. We'll see next week, I guess.

    Pineapple-Cranberry Relish

1-12 oz package cranberries (about 3 Cups)

    1 Cups sugar

    1 Cup pineapple "tidbits"

    1/4 cup pineapple juice

    1 tablespoon minced perserved ginger

    1 tsp. salt

    1/4 tsp. ground allspice

    1. In a 3 quart sauce pan over high heat, heat all ingredients to boiling, stirring ocassionally. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes or until cranberries pop and mixture thickens.

This is my favorite....tastes so good on the turkey or eaten alone!

Yum, great recipes! Before I became a jw, first my Swedish grandmother, then my mom had Thanksgiving for the family at our house. I won't give you the recipe for Ludfisk (I know I'm not spelling that right), or the oyster casserole, although I would love to dig into both again.

This is a simple thing my mom would do. It's an appetizer and most delicious. All you need are pitted dates, cream cheese and walnut halves. You shove cream cheese into a date and stick a walnut half on top. The combo is orgasmic.

I would love to get it so I can make it for my girlfriend this, my first Thanksgiving!!!!!!!! I also have a great recipe for Buttermilk Pie, I know it sounds gross, I thought so too, but it is wonderful if you follow the directions well. here it is

    In blender, blend:

    1 stick butter/ quarter pound

    3 eggs

    1 1/2 cup sugar

    1/2 cup buttermilk

    1 teaspoon vanilla

Blend in blender a FULL 10 MINUTES WITHOUT STOPPING

Pour into 9inch deep graham cracker crust and bake at 350degrees for 50 minutes or golden brown on top. ENJOY AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. I made up this receipe myself. Jack
