Artificial intelligence is a failure because the mind cannot be reduced to a simple set of rules. There have been articles published on this defeat - and what it implies about our world.
This is because the mind is not just a collection of dendrites - there is stuff going on at the quantum level too, and everybody knows how easy it is to predict what happens at the quantum level of reality
Computers as smart as humans? Unlikely. We will reach singularity first, then it won't matter anymore.
