terabletera: my feelings exactly! (I have two cats - they make sure I live for them )
LB: I bet you felt that you had accomplished more and felt better after talking to that teenager than you did during all your time going door-to-door peddling Watchtowers!
As for me, I'm still in the "what do I do now" phase; perhaps within a year or so when I get myself figured out more I'd like to volunteer at a homeless shelter and at the local theatre. When I'm not serving my cats' every demand :)

ascot I dont' know if I accomplished a thing with this young guy but, at least he wanted to talk about it. He's a problem kid but you just hope something sinks in one day. He knows I care about him anyway.

LB: I've read so many experiences and have felt it myself that the things we remember most as teenagers (especially when we're teenagers) are those times when non-judgmental/caring adults listened in compassion. What I regret is that I never thanked some of my high school teachers for just being there, guiding, accepting me. My home life was a mixture of alcoholism (my dad's) and restrice religious upbringing (my mum's a JW), so was pretty erratic and unsettling. To this day, however, I am grateful for those few teachers who brightened my school years and gave me whatever intellectual drive I have today (I'm now returning to college after too much time away slaving for the borg). So what I'm saying is that maybe only in 10 or 20 years, that kid will remember you took the time. You did, when others didn't.

I live for life. I'm here now, so I enjoy it. I'm in no rush to end it because I feel its the only time I'm alive, so I may as well enjoy it.
have fun with friends, watch football with family, go drinking with buddies, dance with pretty girls (sorry ugly ones, not enough time in the world )
Eventually, get married again and have kids, spread the seed that is my DNA.

For me it's definitely more "what" than "who".
Music: I shall pass all the piano grades even if it takes me the next 40 years of my life (assuming I make the full three score and ten that is), and playing bass in a band is worth staying alive for.
