Well it's thanksgiving today.
Yes today is the day families get together and enjoy the company of those we love.
If you are an Apostate as we are....this isn't the case. Today our Witness families and friends will be getting together and eating a big turkey dinner also....they always do.
Are you sad today of the reminder that this religion has broke this relationship? Are you lonely today?

Hey Gumby,dubs always pretend not to celebrate the holidays,while celebrating the holidays.Usualy they will tell you they are eating turkey dinner because it`s on sale,not because it`s Thanksgiving or any other holiday their pretending not to celebrate that day..I`m not lonely because I do have big family dinners over the holidays,and I`m one dam fine cook,LOL!...OUTLAW
I'm a fortunate one, I was the only one who became a dub. I will be going out to my daughters later for dinner, so will not be alone. For those who will be, I really feel for you. This is a day for fmailies to gather together and enjoy each other and sit down together.
If any in the Portland Or. Vancouver Wa. are feeling sad and left out, please contact me before 1 PM and you won't be.

It makes total sense to me....I feel the same way.My Mom's and two sisters (my aunts ) are having the big dinner bash and probably my sisters whom I love. I am at home alone while my wife is out in service .....if you can f****ng believe that! People REALLY want a frickin Witness on their doorstep on thankgiving day!

Hi, gumby. Sorry about your family. My family is physically far away besides being pretty dysfunctional, JW or not.
However, I am having Thanksgiving dinner with a friend. I had two other invitations, one from my roommate who is spending her holiday with her large Peruvian family (she dressed in her Peruvian costume - gorgeous!) and one from a co-worker. If you don't have the kind of people in your life who think of you on these occasions, you will. Things do improve with time.
I hope you make it as good a day as you can.

Not feeling lonely at all today. I am very fortunate to have been out of the borg long enough to "redefine" who my family is. I have gotten numerous emails and phone calls today from friends that I feel are closer than immediate family ever were (speaking of my parents.....not my siblings......eye, you know I love ya!)

I'm going through a difficult divorce and the kids are gone with their dad, my parents don't associate with me much because I'm da'd and they've been getting some heat from the elders about it. All my friends are with their families and I'm sitting at home with a bottle of wine, some crab alfredo and wishing I had some pumpkin pie! I raise my glass to all of you though, because, dammit, this is the last year for me to be alone on a holiday and I'm looking forward to many freedoms in the near future and I'm sure all of you will too. I think for many of us, it's the first year and we're going through transitions of an enormous sort. Let's all take comfort in the fact that we were smart or lucky enough to get out of this friggin cult!

One of them post here on this board and she is my new roommate, she invited me ;. I don't know if I will go,don't know anyone except her. I told her I was thinking about going back to the meetings and she told me to check out this site. I did'nt know it was a ANTI-Jehovah's Witness site. Sorry , I am just babbleing.</P>
