Forget the hot dog you see in the picture. Just look at the Poutine right next to it. Thats right, a POUTINE. Did you ever hear about a Poutine? Well thats what most youngsters here in Quebec eat, just about once a week. It's french fries, with little pieces of cheese and sauce on top. I think in the states, you call that cheese fries? Does this exist in England, or in Australia, or is it unique to Quebec? Yummy Yummy Yummy
Would you eat this?

I know I'm gonna get yelled at by some of my fellow Canucks for saying this, but I hate poutine. Fries and KFC gravy I can handle..... but just leave the cheese curds out of it, thanks. There's also a version of poutine with a tomato/spaghetti type sauce that they call Italian poutine. Bluck, bluck and double bluck.

It *looks* like chips and curry from the chippy. What kind of sauce?
Chips and cheese doesn't look like that here...

Oh by the way, one of my doctor friends calls poutine "a heart attack served in styrofoam cups".
For what it's worth.

PS to Glitter:
It's not curry. It's gravy made from fat drippings. The cheese is curds of white cheddar cheese. Very salty. Very fatty. And yeah, the kids love the stuff.

No, we don't have anything quite like that here. It looks sickening. Anyway I'm on a diet.

The first time I saw fried cheese curds it was at the Minnesota State Fair, where there was a fried cheese curds booth on every corner. I didn't know what they were, but they were good.
Now, for some reason known only to the people who live there, Cincinnati, Ohio considers itself the chili capital of the world. And those folks have some odd ways of serving chili. Like on spaghetti. Like on spaghetti with cheese and with onions and on and on. And the also serve this chili, which is pretty good, on a half-sized hot dog they call a coney. Very odd. There are two chains serving chili in those parts: Skyline and Gold Star. I've had both, and even with my sensitive chef's palate I cannot tell the slightest difference between the two, but they slug it out like they were Mickey Ds and Burger King. Odd.
A little side note. I noticed when I was at the Minnesota State Fair that a whole bunch of people were present from Michigan, the state next door. From what I could tell from those folk, the gene pool over there was similiar to the one over in Alabama I've heard so much about. (No offense.)
