I think those who don't will have a lot to answer to one day. But that simply is my opinion, and I respect the opinion of others

If you think God will punish those who don't believe in him..........how is it you RESPECT that? It sounds like you DO NOT respect that idea. If it was a respectable idea....you would not say God is going to get you if you don't believe in him...........right???????

What I meant is that if indeed we do go to heaven, (which I do) what would we say for ourselves if we didn't believe? Ooops? Just seems to me that we would have some explaining to do.

Either way, that is not for me to decide for others. That being said too, I don't neccessarily believe in a torture, or eternal torment if one does not believe.

Do I think that God can handle it if someone doesn't believe in him? Of course. He has allowed us freewill.

We can believe, or not. I think that if we do believe, God has in store for us greater things than what we have on earth.

Can god have power without the threat of punishment?Well, yes and no. God has unlimited power whether he uses it to punish or not.When we say we LOVE GOD and obey His wishes is that because we do Love the life-giver or are afraid that if we don't then it's goodbye life.How can you love someone you never met?Someone you never had a discussion with.Someone you never shared a meal with.That God has power to threathen you with the removal of life is the foremost reason that he has followers I think.It is even said of Jesus that He had Godly fear! What is Godly fear?Did Jesus fear the threat of punisment, that of losing His own life for good.Did this man see God or is He God?Was he aware of the consquences for not loving and obeying God or Himself . What it means to me is that we will be able to create humans within a relativley short time frame. The question is what about the step following that one: Will we be able to create a completely new life form that is superior to humans?

I personally am strongly in favor of cloning, genetic engineering and other life sciences. It is just the next step in evolution - the accelerated mutation and genesis of the future.
