I don't think we are necessarily alone in the universe, but there is no hard evidence that intelligent extraterrestrial beings are visiting us from vast distances in space, dimension, or time.
Anecdotes have proven time and time again to be worthless as evidence.
I think it's more geocentric to believe that aliens are interested in and expending resources to visit this backwoods planet than to think that we have a greater chance of not being visited because of the fact that we are not so special.
