My problem seems to be loving other people. I keep a relatively good distance from anyone outside my immediate family and don't want things to be that way.

I can relate to that! The more you socialise the easier it becomes to get involved with people again. Even now I still find it hard to just embrace anyone and I guess thats ok, get to know people first and then take time to decide which ones you would like to spend more time around.

You dont have to love bomb people in the real world like we did in the JW world so there's nothing wrong with keeping people at arms length for a while....took me time to appreciate that.

You've committed no crime my friend, but only sought out a life of your own. The real crime, and quite a shame, is that your family has distanced themselves from you and your children. Perhaps you still blame yourself and think leaving the borg was maybe not the thing to do all those years ago. Just remember we're all here to remind you otherwise and for all kinds of reasons. BTW, don't feel bad about all those youthful indiscretions...whatever doesn't kill you or land you in jail only makes you stronger..*LOL* Oh and where ya from? We have gatherings all the time, at which you and your family would be more than welcome, and most definitely be made to feel like you had just gained back an extended family, but ten fold. Welcome aagain!
