I think the best scam that was ever perpetrated against me is a religious organization called Jehovahs Witnesses.
They conned my grandparents (on both sides of the family) into selling books door-to-door for no pay. Then my grandparents convinced their children, my parents and all of my aunts and uncles to join too... so there they went... selling books door-to-door for no pay. Then my parents and all of my aunts and uncles convinced me and all of my brothers and sisters and cousins to join up too... so there we all went... three solid generations selling books door-to-door for no pay.
Not only that, but they had us all going to five friggin meetings a week, studying their books at home all the time, and associating only with other people who sold the same books door-to-door.
Damn... I feel so stupid now that I think about it.
