My wife told me that last night a letter was read from the Society, explaining how all printing operations in Brooklyn were being moved to either Walkill or Patterson, and that worldwide there would be consolidation of the printing operations. I know there have been rumors like this floating around here for the last month or so, but now it seems there is confirmation. Has anyone else heard about this letter being read?
I am slightly disappointed it is not online yet.
I've heard the same rumours.........alot is being transferred to Patterson with alot of "layoffs" from Bethel.........probably because the old magazine placements are way down, and hardly any new bible studies in the free world are being conducted.....there's just not the growth they once had (gee what a shame!).
Plus, they probably need to trim costs from printing and start saving for all the lawsuits they're going to have on their hands......

Seems inconceivable that they could claim a worldwide 3.2% increase even with their so-called "new arrangements" with all this downsizing and outsourcing that's going on.
Now, that's interesting. My wife said nothing about asking for donations. But she could not remember all the details. Said it was posted on the information board if I wanted to read it( I think that was a little slam at me and my poor meeting attendance).
Well, this may be great news for all of us that wants this false profit organization to go out of business.
When I came to these boards like this one, I found out the membership figure is about 6 million worldwide. I am remembering the figure used to be higher back in the late 1980s. Didn't it used to be much higher? like 20 million worldwide?
Has this membership dropped dramically?
I hope the numbers dewindle even more.
I wanna see all of the cults around the world to go outta business, but that's not gonna happen.

There are 2 figures the WTS uses to report membership, depending on what it wants to accomplish. One figure involves the annual Memorial attendance, which may be up around 14 or 15 million.
The other number is the actual number of publishers, which is close to the 6 million figure.
You may have heard the higher figure earlier, but that's not a true membership figure but rather an ATTENDANCE amount at the one meeting per year where everyone seems to "come out of the woodwork".
If these details are true, it creates a puzzlement: Why shut down Brooklyn printing
only to move it to Wallkill? This costs money.
I can only guess that:
9-11 made them paranoid
they want MORE isolation of Bethelites
or they are just lying because they really intend massive cutbacks and talking
about moving stuff to Wallkill covers over the matter. When I was told about this
by someone 'in the know', I was skeptical that there was a degree of smokescreen
in it. Gotta keep the Witlesses asleep.

I have read somewhere, that they are going to sell the Brooklyn complex to the city New York, if
they win the organisation of the olympic games - which is most likely, because of 9/11...
