I used to think I would not live to see 30. Now that I've passed it safely, I'm just hoping I hit four score with my brain working properly and all my bodliy functions still functioning. When I get there, I just hope I don't embarrass myself.

I shutter at the thought of being a burden on anyone.
We are caring for my very elderly parents, who are 89 and 90, so I can definitely relate to that comment of Xena's. If they had been better with their money, and planned for old age, they could be living independently with a little paid help for cleaning and other minor things. They simply can't afford to live alone anymore, so here they are.
My father's family live well into their 90's and Mom's mother died at 94, so I think genetically I am likely to live long. I hope I have my mother's sharp mind, and good health too. Frail I could handle, but Dad's dementia would be horrible, and he's blind. I don't know how I would be without my computer and my pictures to scrapbook, and baking. It would be so hard to lose your senses.
So, I hope I live to be very old, but I sure don't want to be a burden to my kids. My daughters in law tell me they will find me a nice "home".

You only live twice. When you are born and when you look death in the face.

Well I better live a long life. I am gonna be really pissed if I don't. I am 67 and everything still works so it looks good so far. I have too many things to catch up on due to my stagnent years in the Borg.
My mom and dad both made 76 in a time where the medical posibilities were poor and I have much better health at my age than they did.
I love being retired so I can goof off any time I decide to and no meetings to go to. Every time I think of all the jw things I no longer have to do I get this grin on my face. Can't help it.
