Are you talking about psychics and fortune tellers? If so- they are so wrong. They are getting there "knowledge" from satan, not from God.

2 Peter 1:3 - "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness..."

God has already given us everything we need to know, in His Word. We do not need psychics.

Also- what do they do? Tell the future. Well, we cannot nearly control the future. God is sovereign. You might say "they dont' control it, they just tell it". Thats wrong too. God is the only One who knows everything, because He has planned it out. He is the Alpha and Omega (Rev. 21:6)

    Calvinist,

Since you brought up the Bible, read 1 Corithians 14:1-5....I only have the NWT handy and I quote:

    1. Pursue love, yet keep zealously seeking the spiritual gifts, but preferably that you may prophesy. 2.For he that speaks in a tongue speaks, not to men, but to God, for no one listens, but he speaks sacred secrets by the spirit. 3. However, he that prophesies upbuilds and encourages and consoles men by his speech. 4. He that speaks in a tongue upbuilds himself, but he that prophesies upbuilds a congregation. 5. Now I would like for all of you to speak in tongues, but I prefer that you prophesy. Indeed, he that prophesies is greater than he that speaks in tongues, unless, in fact, he translates, that the congregation may receive up building.

It doesn't sound like they are getting their knowledge from Satan to me. Not to be preachy, but I would not like to be the person that called a gift from God, a gift from the devil.

    Hi Calvin Klein,

Are you talking about psychics and fortune tellers

Maybe you should re-read the questions before you answer. No, we weren't talking about fortune tellers....so you can relax now.

As far as psychics go....I "know things" often before they are said. I constantly "know", let's say a number before it's said. eg; how much did you give for this house I'll ask someone. Before they answer I'll think 155,000 and that will be it! I do this often but just in little things like that.

A dog "knows things" too. Ours knew you were going to give it a bath if you simply thought about it and would hide.....no joke. Why could not humans sense things also? We can't all sing can we?......only some of us.

If someone was truly psychic, you'd think they'd already know what "God" thinks of their ability......

Calvinist, not all psychics tell the future. Most are just very intuitive. Intuition is a quality we have because God allowed it.

You are such a black and white fundy sort of guy aren't you?

Got to add a point to the comments on "prophesy" (taking this single example of psychic ability).

Whilst most Fundamental churches seem to frown on the idea, and are strictly cessationist, they have difficulty reconciling that to some of the events surrounding the various "revivals". Sadly, John Calvin took this view, too. I suggest that he possibly regrets it, now.

Personally, I have to say that I believe God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. What he has always done, he continues to do. I don't see how "prophecy" can be written off as a pasttime for a bygone age.
