I may have found the solution to my problem...

*** w99 11/1 30 A Voluntary Offering to Advance Pure Worship *** Note that Moses did not stipulate a precise amount that each one should give, nor did he use guilt or shame to motivate the giving. Instead, he simply appealed to every willing-hearted one. Moses evidently felt no need to coerce Gods people. He was confident that each one would give all that he or she could.Compare 2 Corinthians 8:10-12.

If anyone tries to guilt me into making a donation, I will simply point them to this article.

you could also claim that you do not like to donate cash there, but that you transfer a big donation on the society's bankaccount once a year. nobody has to know that you only donate a dollar a year eh?

For a while, I was able to get a subscription mailed to a PO Box. I told the "sister" who called on me (she didn't know that we were on our way out of the JWs) that my husband would absolutely beat the living $h!t out of me if magazines came in our mailbox at home, or saw the JWs calling with them. Apparently the WTS used to have a soft spot for abused women who needed their "message of hope and relief" , because they made an exception and I got my subscription mailed to me for 2 years. (Oh, BTW, that "sister" never offered any help to get me out of my "situation"... even though I had her totally convinced that my husband was a raging wife beater....)

You could get a neighbour lady to try that for you - and just ask her to pass the magazines on when she gets them....

    Love, Scully
