They want to build big and tall, because they need office space. Although 2 big skyscrapers were destroyed, many others of 40 and 50 stories also were destroyed. They cannot build only a hollow tower, because they need the office space for working people. Whatever they build, they will have to avoid another catastrophy like 9-11. When the buildings fell, they said they would never build that high again. But I guess that they are proud, and want to show the whole world that they are stronger than before. Nothing wrong with that, but how can they avoid another 9-11. They can not stop terrorism at 100%. Making the buildings too tall, is like putting a target sign on them, saying try to destroy these. I think that they should make them 50 or 60 stories at the most.

This is going to come off as incredibly offensive. If you don't like it, please just ignore it and move on.
The only memorial I want to see at that site is a wall surrounding it with the names of all the victims of 9/11 written upon it. Inside that wall, the remembrance and mourning stop. Inside that wall I want a military base that is the most visible show of force in history. I want to see a massive battery of ICBM's (InterContinental Ballistic Missiles) equipped with the most powerful thermonuclear warheads available and to hell with any arms treaties. And I want those ICBM's above ground, not in subterranean silos. I want the bad guys to see them and feel the fear. I want that nuclear missile base guarded by the best and most powerful defenses available. Helicopter gunships and Harrier jets fully armed. Military troops on patrol fully armed, fortified machine gun emplacements, anti-aircraft batteries, patriot missile batteries, if it goes boom and kills a lot of people I want it there and visible and I want a huge American Flag flying over it all.
And if Osama Bin Laden is ever caught (which I think he will be soon) I want him to meet his fate publicly right in front of the gates to "Ground Zero". I'm sure you watched the movie "Hannibal". Remember the fate that wacko millionaire had planned for Lecter? Well I think it would be appropriate for Bin Laden to meet the same porcine demise in front of the cameras of CNN and Al-Jazeera.

Mike, I'm not offended In fact, I think a "porcine demise" would be quite fitting.
I don't really care for any of the above designs ('cept the one Scully posted ) but I am wondering...what is it about men and their fascination with the size of their...um..."buildings"?

I think some sort of garden or park with a wall of names would be nice, but its a prime business location so they will probably end up with a building of some sort
