I would make sure to take her ice skating at Rockefeller Center, walk down 5th Avenue and don't forget to stop by Tiffany's. At Tiffany's you can by a "token" gift, I think someone on our tour got a deck of cards.

Radio City Music Hall is a fun stop; Statue of Liberty; a Broadway or off Broadway musical...... What about a carriage ride thru Central Park, that was a fun thing to do!! Riding on the subway and keeping a token was memorable.

FOSL was there on 9/11, so maybe I'd make the WTC trip near the end of the day in case she gets overwhelmed.

My favorite night club is Cafe Wha? on McDougal street in Greenwich Village. Check it out - you won't be dissappointed!

Gotta agree with Mikey there. My Bro-in-law works in the Woolworth Building and he just can't fathom people wanting to see a graveyard. How morbid is that? Respect the dead for God's sake. Don't make it a tourist attraction, have some decency.

Also, go to Philly if you want a real Cheesesteak....go to Pats....Genos sucks.

You know, I live 45 minutes from NYC and I haven't been there in fifteen years. Not very interesting to me. Of course, I live in Jersey, and people with attitudes reside here as well.

I'm sorry, but I don't think there's anything wrong at all with wanting to see Ground Zero. I used to live in NYC and haven't been back there since 9/11, but one of these days I will return and will definitely go by to see it. People go see Pearl Harbor - people visit the Holocaust musuem(s) as well - it's not disrespectful at all - it's getting able to see the location of a tragic, historical event, that's all. That's not disrespectful IMO. I can definitely see how people could be offended by others visiting the site, but all I can say is that I would hope visitors would understand that fact and not be laughing and joking around while there. That sort of conduct would easily offend a person who lost a loved one or is just a New Yorker who saw it all happen.

Being that Pearl Harbor is a military location, you know that there isn't going to be anything disrespectful going on near the Arizona......but, until Ground Zero is a proper memorial, I just think people should stay away. Visiting a memorial is fine, but WTC is like an open grave.....just a feeling I have, know what I mean?
