I find it very frustrating when you are so vague. How about telling us what you really thought of the movie, hey?

Heh, heh Dana I must admit that I don't often offer my opinions on matters in such an unambiguous way. As someone who has read the book about 8 times (meaning, I actually like the story the way it was written!), I find it frustrating that The Muppets can better capture the spirit of classics such as A Christmas Carol and Treasure Island than Jackson, with all his resources, could do with this book. IMO, LOTR deserves better than this poor representation.

I'm not much into the LOTR books, so I really don't know what all was left out of the movies... one thing that bugs me is at the end durring the big battle. That wizard guy in white shows up in the east with a huge army to help with the fight. Where the hell did all of the fighters come from?

I don't know about the wizard guy, but so far I have never been able to pull an army out of my a$$.

I hear what you're saying Steph

I've read the books a number of times, as well; unfortunately, once I saw Legolas, memory completely deserted me and I found myself not remembering nor caring how true they were to the book (it's the hair, man! the hair...and and the lips! Oh yeaaaaaaah those lips...and don't even get me started on his full quiver *shiver*)

Btw, out of curiosity, have you (or anyone reading this for that matter) ever read the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen R. Donaldson? I am currently re-reading them for the sethirmumble time. 'Twould be interesting to hear others' thoughts.

    Elsewhere,

That's not necessarily a bad thing, you know? Most of us women aren't too excited by a guy who pulls things out of his..er..a$$. Just thought I'd let ya know

Safe4kids,I agree with you.... Those men are not hard to look at.

I never read the books,so it was easier for me to enjoy the movie.I have read books and then watched the movies and it can be disappointing.

    Stephanus,

    I agree with you wholeheartedly.

In the end, the movie is a whorish piece of Hollywood Garbage. At least it was a tad better than Fellowship.

    Hey Dana:

I read The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. I was simultaneously fascinated by the richness of The Land and the story, and bored by the excessive level of detail. Yet, I couldn't put the books down. I guess it's been 15 years since I read them. They were a very good place to escape to in my late teens.

Have you read the two volume series Donaldson did about the chick who went through the mirror to another world? Mordant, I believe it was called.
