Double Edge
This pagan ceremony has very powerful implications for superstitious, primitive, people. Eventually, it was adopted into Christianity, in a slightly more civilized format. Christians have an annual festival (Easter) marking the killing of their god incarnate (Jesus). They then symbolically drink his blood and eat his flesh.
Totally fabricated and NOT true. (Scheesch...where do people come up with this stuff?)

Nickey, do you unequivocally believe in the Bible as written and without exception? Then I would say the overwhelming concensus of theology and practice would require you to personally participate in the "Lord's Supper."
I went to 40 Memorials; never partook, though I was sorely tempted to for a period of almost 10 years (TresHappy "The Annual Watch the Bread and Wine Go By Festival." LOL). I haven't been to one since 2000. Not sure what the resolution will be, but I'm gonna take my time to think it through (for the first time, really think it through).
I'm sure Jesus understands.
btw, welcome to the forum! Stick around and you may very well find the "confusion" clear up. It is for me.

It always struck me funny that ...
the JWs would celebrate and make the biggest day of their year the DEATH of Jesus
Where as Christianity makes the RESURRECTION their "holiest" celebration.

A historical point, the great crowd was identified in 1935 but was not "invited" to attend the Memorial until 1938. Nothing happened to those of the "great crowd" who did not attend those 3 years, so it must not have been necessary. I think they just didn't want to have only 10 people showing up and the rest of the congregation staying home. That would have looked odd.

Today, according to authentic records, there is a "great crowd" of dedicated, baptized Christians who actively collaborate with the small remnant of spiritual Israelites. Ever since the spring of 1938 they have been invited to attend the annual memorial celebration of Christs death, not to partake of the memorial emblems, the unleavened bread and the red wine, but as respectful observers.See announcement "Memorial." p. 50, Watchtower issue of February 15, 1938; also p. 75, paragraphs 51, 52, Watchtower issue of March 1, 1938. Note announcement "Memorial" in Watchtower, February 15, 1937, p. 50.

I think we all ought to get together and show up and partake, just to skew their numbers. Then get up and leave without answering questions.

Attending the Memorial every year, passing the "emblems" on to the next partaker, established a good habit, so that I will also pass on the Kool-Aid when it comes around.
