When I was in there I fought them off all damn day long, and all night long too

So Rev, you were running the SL site from one of your own machines? If so I could see how you might be able to monitor and prevent hack attempts, but otherwise I'm not sure. So now its being hosted by a thrid party w/a webmaster to administer and update? I'm thinking "How did the host company not spot a breach and put a stop to it?"...just musing and trying to put all the pieces together...oh and do you think that hosting the Sl site on a domain that clearly states it involved in counter cult activities could draw other crazies that have nothing to do w/JWland, who might just have a grudge against the webmaster/host? Yet another sordid side of this sad tale..

    Sincerely,

Open the 66.96.211.34 Home page, I did this and got

    Searcher,

That's the IP address of my server. Why they were linking to my server is beyond me, but whatever, as long as they're ok now, that's all that matters.

What I meant was, they would attack the site, not necessarily hacking it. I should have specified. I merely meant silentlambs has MANY adversaries. The Webmaster BEFORE me said on average 6 per day.....and that seemed about right. But I think the problem this past week when it was on my server, and the problem today are NOT hackers. As Simon pointed out, it's usually an inside job or someone screwing up. I think they're too free with their passwords, to be honest, and I warned Bill about this.

    Yes, that's what I understand

I'm thinking "How did the host company not spot a breach and put a stop to it?"

Well, you'd have to be sitting their watching all day every day to actually 'witness' someone entering the system.

Hmmmm, yes, I think you might have a good point, is that the case?

Rev...I guess I got confused, you must be Commservco.com right? I noticed that on this page..

    http://www.silentlambs.org/e_mail.htm

That they are listed as the tech support address. And they claim to be involved in counter cult activities. Or is this you? If so then nevermind...I'm probably just having a goof day..

Maybe they are uploading an older copy of the website and that the tech support link w/ [email protected], run by an XJW apparently, just hasn't been taken off yet? I thought SL was trying to get away from using an XJW to administer.

Commservco.com had the site for two years before Rev/megasytes ever was involved. Whatever they did (hosting/webmaster, etc.) I don't know specifically (like Wednesday, that part is OMH = over my head). Also, it is my understanding the person @ Commservco wished to remain anonymous.

Thanks Simon. That was a direct request that I had which is why I mentioned it.
