Ohhhhhaaaahhhhh boooooooo! Ghost? Something fun to read:

This is pretty spooky... Apparently the owners of this house had been seeing images and hearing voices for quite a while. They did some research and found that a lady once lived in the house who lost her husband during the civil war. Legend says that she used to sit at the table and look across the fields in anticipation of her loved one returning home. He never came. So, they say she still waits. They caught this photo of what they claim to be her.

This one was wild and a little spooky once you find the ghost in the picture. It took me a few seconds to find it, but when you do, it just stands out. Like one of those optical illusions. It may take you up to a minute after the page loads to find it. Just keep looking.

To save you some time, concentrate around the table. Best not to focus too much on one spot. Look around the table and toward the window.

Click on the link below for the picture.

For an added touch turn up the volume, it's faint, but the low murmur you hear was what got the photographer's attention first.

    biker chic,

i tried that last time we had a thread about ghosts and i never did see it. oh well.

    rebel,

I think that some people who claim to be spirit mediums may be able to contact them, Since i have had contact with them, I think they could make contact with anyone. the question is, What are u contacting? I doubt it is a deceased relatvie, i really do. For a time i visited psychics and such. But i no longer do such things. I no longer am trying to encourge contact with whatever is in the spirit realm. I really think ,based on my own experiences, that contact with the spirit realm is only harmful. I do not spend time any longer thinking about these things, as it only proved harmful for me and my family. I admit, it seems itriging, but the people who have told me about their contacts, reported that even if they started out positive, they were always harmful or upsetting in some way.

On this area, i think the WTS is correct.

I really don't know. I was staring in the face of something for a few minutes. It looked human, but bright bluish-white. A woman I think. It smiled. I jumped back and it it frowned at my reaction. I just remember it's hair was pulled up. 2 feet from my face just staring at me. I mean, it was just too close to my face that I could stare into it's eyes. See every facial feature. Every strand of hair.

I was so freaked out that I dove to the door and saw it turn around and watch me run. I don't know if it was sad or mad. But I was scared and I wasn't trying to sit there having a hallmark moment with it. I am not the type to ask "What's your name? Can I help you?" Nooooo.... I was diving to to door.

    Ghost? Demon? I don't know.

whatever i have seen has either been in the human form, or was like a streak of light, or a smoke form. I have never seen anything that was really physicaly frightening.

It depends how you define ghosts. I have never, in all my 41 years, experienced anything spooky.

Yet too many sane people have seen things that are impossible to explain by current scientific understanding.

SOMETHING is there that we don't yet understand.

However...I find it difficult to believe that intelligent spirit creatures would spend an eternity scaring the crap out of folks by moving their knick-knacks around, or reducing the temperature in the hallway.

I believe there are a number of explanations. One is simply misinterpretation of a normal event, either because you are tired, drugged or drunk, or otherwise susceptable for some reason (been watching ghost films!). Another possible explanation is a temporary or permanent mental imbalance - causing hallucinations which can appear to the person experiencing them as totally real (they are NOT lying). Of course there is also the possibility of malicious pranks, liars, and people can be tricked into believing in ghosts by fraudulent spirit mediums or someone with a vested interest (Scooby Doo anyone?). There are as many different possible explanations as events.

I have a personal theory about this. What about the possibility of a phenomena that science has not quantified yet - the possibility that images, sounds, etc can be recorded in the surrounding environment, just like we record such things on magnetic tape today. The earth is a huge magnetic and electrical system. Maybe under certain circumstances an actual event, perhaps beyond just sound and images, can be 'recorded' in the very ground or building itself - only replaying under certain atmospheric conditions which trigger it off. Such a replaying would fit the apparently mindless yet realistic activities of so-called 'ghosts'.

'Ghosts' are real...but what the #&$ are they?

Some of you have had some really creepy experiences. I am glad it wasn't me - I don't know how I would react to such a thing - I'd probably have heart failure.

dmouse - that's such an interesting theory. I had never thought of that - we know the earth has a magnetic belt and, as you say, it is a giant magnetic and electrical system. It could work like some sort of giant video recorder. But why is it only some people see things and others don't? Are some people more susceptible to it?

I do think that there is a possibility that they exist. After all, nobody has ever been able to figure out what this is that I photographed on my new digital camera:
