I asked one of my sisters ("fleshly") to explain this to me, and she could not. She hemmed and hawed, and finally told me I should talk to her husband, who is an elder. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but if I am spending my life in a group, at the very least shouldn't I understand what I allegedly believe????? I wanted to use that as a starting point for further discussion, but she would have none of it, and changed the subject.

Thank you all very much. TD, for a non-witness you have performed truly yeoman service in explaining what the JWs themselves can't. I expect that the official position will soon come to be that only organizationally motiveated, spiritually directed minds have the power to understand this new interpretation of things and that worldly people, especially apostates, will not be able to understand.
What I do understand is that the GB has outfitted themselves with a cynical interpretation that fits any and every circumstance. I fail to see how even the intellectual light-weights (read: most JWs) can swallow this, much less those JWs with some brains. I guess this is what comes of brainwashing.
Gobbeldegook, yes I agree. The JWs interpretations are gradually slipping away from even Orwellian doublespeak and are headed lightspeed toward Wonderland. Move over Alice, here we come!!

I think expatbrit explained the 'new lite' on this generation teaching better than the WTS.

It's a heck of alot easier than trying to figure out seventy weeks times whatchumacalit plus whosamigding equals the time plus 4 to the 7th power ect....ect...
