I read LE's complaints elsewhere, now it's obvious that these complaints elsewhere were made after Simon had dealt with the problem here at 5.27, just 46 minutes after it was requested here.

I didn't read the thread here until lunchtime and assumed, incorrectly that the problem had been outstanding for ages.

    My apologies.

Are you going to change the levels of posting ID's also? ie - jedi - etc???

    1) I have an idea, maybe the ones that want to be identified would get a different type of account that way you could see easier who is giving you problems? In other words, "status for giving you more information"...

    2) Also a way to donate funds to you without giving away my i dentity ....I am using your site non stop and have no way, that I am aware of to donate...??

    3) My buttons for color, only red and some other never have worked...

I read it as being a big problem that had been missed as well E.Man but since I've looked into it more closely it does not appear to be a valid complaint (probably why they haven't complained to me directly and just gone elsewhere to 'grumble'). I think it has more to do with online friendships and loyalties.

    Re: the moderators ...

Hillary_Step and OzziePost are also moderators

I'm thinking of asking some more people to help out as it does make it easier if more people do it (though there is often little to do when we really get down to it).

I have asked people already and I hope they don't think I have decided against them ... it just takes me ages to get round to sorting things out as you may have guessed!

BTW: This does not excuse the posts by yardif which were dealt with, I wanted to clarify that I don't think complaints that I didn't deal with it are fair because it's obvious I did.

What about an alert button that tallys up how many times it's been pressed?

Then you may be able to judge how offensive the post is.

    Breeze,

    You mentioned,

"1) I have an idea, maybe the ones that want to be identified would get a different type of account that way you could see easier who is giving you problems? In other words, "status for giving you more information"

Im not sure that I agree with this. I would think that someone who is into drama may begin looking for trouble or maybe even ancouraging it in order to nark and receive this so called "status".

    My thoughts,

I wish everyone simply had the # of posts and their origional sign in date by their username and not a certain "level" or "status" title. The sign in date and number of posts made can be very helpful in showing others how much they have contributed and if they are regular posters etc.

Sometimes titles of superiority or status almost remind me of a place employment or even the Kingdom hall. The "Im better than you" thing, ya know?

IF A THREAD IS UNPLEASANT, JOINING IN ON IT IS NOT GOING TO MAKE IT BETTER.

Exactly. How many times has this been said?

But.......It's awfully hard to refrain when a friend is being vilified.

I guess the best thing is to assume that, in these cases, silence IS golden.

I've got to be sure and apply that anti-itch lotion to my fingers more often!

I have just caught up to this thread being away a few days myself.

I just want to let Englishman know , yes I did receive your email.

And to Simon,,,,,,,,,, I , myself do not feel that I was being attacked any worse than anyone eles from the two days that this thread went on. I just happened to be the last stupid ass to reply to it, and got the last of his insults directed to me , before the thread was locked. I , in no way think I was singled out as being insulted. In fact, that was my whole point, this person had been insulting people for 2 days, before this thread was locked.

I also stated that ,,,,,,,,,,, I have seen other threads locked for far less than this particular one. That is my opinion and I have a right to say so. I happened to be involved in Mr. Moes,,,,,,,, naked thread,,,,,,,lol....... it was just a joke. And no skin off my back it was deleted at all, but no one was harmed, called names, or insulted in any way at all in that thread, and no one really had their clothes off,,,,,,,,it was a joke............( well, as far as I know no one had their clothes off)

I also stated my opinion to some here ,,,,,that Incense and Peppermints, Mr. Moe, and Imbue were all banned from posting as punishment , for their fighting and name calling,,,,,,,,, very soon after the thread appeared, in my mind in contrast to the Yadrif thread. A little while after I made these comments the Yardrif thread was locked.

    Thanks LyinEyes

I think it's easy to forget that I can never get to read every post of every topic and so will miss things. There have been over 31,000 posts made this month alone and try as I might, I won't read them all and even if I do, I may read something without realising the full import of what is being said (ie. skimming).

The reason I picked up on the MrMoe / Incense thing is because I got a few emails about it. I only picked up on the other thread when I noticed it. (there is also the timing thing because I am not necessarily checking my email at the same time as I am browsing the forum).

Some times I happen to click on a topic and pick up on things, other times I don't ... sometimes I read a few pages of a topic and it seems fine but isn't something I'm interested in and then, unknown to me, a fight breaks out on page 5 for instance. I rely on people letting me know if there is a problem and I hope having an 'alert' system will improve things.

I hope this explains things, and thank you for your understanding and patience.
