About two months ago, two witnesses showed up at my door - the first visit in over 10 years. They were nicely dressed in suits - two men in their mid to late 30's. The one doing the talking presented the magazines. Then he did something we didn't do when we were out in "the magazine work". He read a scripture. I told him I knew the scripture. It is part of Handel's Messiah. He seemed pleased. I fished trough my pocket and pulled out some change and took the magazines. Three weeks later he came back but with a different man with him. He asked if I had read the magazines and I told him I had. The main article was about whether prayer could solve the terrorism problem. I told him I knew the answer before I read the article, that no, prayer could not help. He seemed pleased once more. He then went on to present the Knowledge book. I told him I had one that my son gave me. My son used to be a waiter and some traveling witnesse patrons gave him a copy. The guy at the door seemed pleased again. He brought forth two magazines and I took out some money and took the magazines once again. He also asked me if I wanted to study from the knowledge book. I told him I knew their basic doctrines, but I would think about it. In another three weeks, they came back again, but it was not convenient for me two talk to them at that moment. They stopped again last Sunday on the early side for return visits. I had only been awake for a short time and my head was not alert so, I did not answer the door. My wife observed how timid their knocks on the door were. Well, I am looking forward to their next visit. As an "interested one" I sure do have a lot of "sincere questions" for them, so I will invite them in for a friendly little chat.

Sometimes I wish I could pose as an "interested one" and ask some tough questions that might get their minds working. However, since I live in the same neighborhood I grew up in, most of the dubs around here know me, and so I couldn't pull it off. Good luck to you, though, and have fun!!

Good luck at not blowing it! I've done what you plan to do and so much of what I know about them came out until I told the guy "I used to be a witness". That ended it but it was going "real nice" for awhile. It's hard to not let it slip out of the bag because you have too many weapons that are apostate "givaways" that are too tempting to use.

I think the hardest thing is not to use their lingo. I have to say church instead of kingom hall, for example. Well, here is my plan. I am going to tell them that I grew up around a lot of JW kids (a very true statement), and ask them what has changed in what they believe now a days. That should be interesting. Topics I will bring up, if they don't are: college, Dateline, and the UN. I will keep you all updated. Note to self: go to bed early on Friday and Saturday nights, and be dressed nicely on the following mornings. Also, have the coffee consumed so the brain is working.

SUNDAY? Someone called you on a Sunday?? You got a real zealous one there, Larc!
I remember when they had meeting parts explaining that the WTS went to court in the 40's to help legallize the Sunday witnessing, but how now hardly any of the "brothers" go out to take advantage of that "privilege".
