Show Appreciation To Jehovah By Counting Time!

If nothing else it was an interesting part!

A lot of emphasis was put on the "accurate" reporting. However, the only scripture that was read in the entire part was the one from Acts were "about 3,000" were baptised.

If the early Christians had have had the same mentality, Paul's writings especially would have been full of statistics and figures - "And in Corinth, we had 143 at the special talk I gave. 23 were batized, 13 sisters and 10 brothers". Perhaps the early Christians cared more about people than figures.

All the long hours I spend on this site talking about Jehovah Witnesses, can I put this on my slip as hours in the service? If not, then here is my report

    JH--LOL

Service meetings always made me shudder with something like.....constipation.

    God loves numbers? How awful.

Can't Jehovah see for himself all the numbers? Why does He need us to put down anything? Perhaps the part should have been "Show Appreciation/Submission to the Tasteless & Disgruntled Goat Class by Counting meaningless hours"

It's like a car accident. You don't want to see it, but you just have to look!

Thanks JH for ruining my day!! ;-)

And here I always thought that God cared about PEOPLE and now new light says it was the TIME he cares about?! Sheesh!

Actually, I stopped turning in time several years before I left for good. I was a "consciencious objector" to reporting time. No scripture I ever found backed up my having to account for my time to anyone, and I resented the idea! ( I guess that is just proof that I was not biddable "humble" enough to make a good little witness) Since my time slips were almost always greatly "fudged" to start with, I don't think it really mattered much - I could always be counted on to bring down the national average, even with my fudged slips!

JH thanks for that!! I think that very few of us have ever gotten a glimpse into the secret paperwork and files---especially if you're a female. It answered a lot of questions I had. Thanks again!
