What does God prefer?

JH: You are correct, "the witnesses do think that they are spiritual and also very generous, because they take their time going from door to door." I thought that once to, I'm ashamed to say. But we now know such is truly not the case. Again, you are correct: "Now that's love!" It is in fact a "form" of love, but it is lacking in so so many things as I'm sure you and I can expound upon its lack in voluminous detail. However, "Telling people they will die if the don't come and join the WT" is not something that I had ever done. I'm sure some have (sad to say), but it's not something I ever said to anyone when I went door-to-door. Their spirituality, their generosity, their 'whatever,' is a form but false concept of what those words truly mean. There is too too great a lack in their understanding of these terms. I acknowledge that and agree with you. But I'm not one to deny that they have a form of these things. And it's only when the 'individual' realizes this that there might be a paradigm shift for them to the reality of what things should be from themselves inside their being.

If being good means helping the poor and sick, then God isn't good because he could eliminate it all.

Sometimes,I don't think God expects us to have 100% knowledge of the bible.I don't think the bible is 100% God's word.....I can't see a loving God doing the things that are in the bible.Sometimes I think they were radical God fearing people who thought it was God telling them to do it and they stuck it in the bible.Look at all the religious garbage going on now,and in 1000 yrs it will be written down in a book saying it was God's will. But than again...I dunno..just a thought................

May you all have peace... and may I respond, please? Thank you!

First, I would like to say, yes, dear Elsewhere... it is possible to be 'spiritual' without believing in deities. That is so, however, because we ARE spirits... encased in 'earthen vessels'... physical flesh. As Paul said, "Where there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual one." And when speaking of creation and its "kinds", he is recorded to have said that there are "terrestrial (earthly or physical) bodies," as well as "celestial (heavenly or spirit) bodies." Thus, we are two people, each of us: the man we are on the OUTSIDE... as well as the man we are... on the INSIDE.

The first is physical, earthly flesh... which is "enslaved"... to sin and death. It must eat, drink, sleep, pass waste, and more, and it feels pain... mentally, emotionally, PHYSICALLY... and spiritually. While it also must eat and drink ("manna" and "living water"), the SPIRIT body does not sleep, nor does it pass waste. What is taken into it only serves to further reinforce it. In addition, the spirit body only feels SPIRITUAL pain: there is no mourning, outcry or [physical] pain experienced by it (that's why "wicked" spirits feel no remorse!)

We are, all of us, spirit beings in that we are, all of us "seed" that had spirit origin. What makes us DIFFERENT is who it is that "fertilizes" us... whose 'spirit' is put in us... God's... or Death's by means of Satan's. We PROVE we have God's spirit in us... and prove TRUE to that spirit... by LOVING... God... our neighbors/brothers... AND our enemies. Love... is what proves we have been 'begotten" by God. If, however, we do NOT have love... which we demonstrate by HATING our brother (and such hatred may be direct as well as indirect, tangible as well as intangible)... we "PROVE" our father... the one who 'begat' us with HIS life... to be Satan.

ALL of us... whether we believe in deities, a deity, the supernatural, or whatever... will ultimately prove who WE are: either, spirit beings hidden in the earth from our enemies in the spirit realm... OR... the "seed" of such enemies. For two "men" sowed seed... one a "good" man... the other a "wicked" one. And as we speak, ALL creation is waiting for the revealing of the sons of God. Many believe themselves to be... based on their perceived "good" works.

However, if such works are not the works of my Lord, and thus my Father (for that One did the works of his Father, my Father, the Holy One of Israel), it will be "proven". And we should KNOW... because it is our "fruits"... ALL of ours... that reveals who we truly are. Even if WE don't know... yet... who we are. My Lord CAME here, though, to remind us... call us... so that we could return.

I hope this helps your understanding.

And dearest Shera, please know that neither does God expect us to know the Bible 100%, nor is it 100% His Word. God, in fact, does not expect us to know the Bible at ALL; rather, He wishes us to know HIM... by means of knowing His Son! John 5:39, 40 helps us understand that. In addition, only "scripture" is inspired by God, and the Bible is not all "scripture". It is also NOT the word of God, for there is only ONE Word... and Revelation 19:13 tells us EXACTLY who that word it.

Dearest Inkie... as always... peace to you... and amen and amen!

And to all of you who wish it, may the undeserved kindness and mercy of my God and Father, the Holy One of Israel, whose name is JAH of Armies, and the peace of His Son and Christ, my Lord, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH... be upon you!

AGuest you are one . . . interesting fella.

Anyway in response to the question, I think it is better to be a good person than spiritual person, BUT I think that the Christian god is pretty darn picky so he'd probably prefer a spiritual person.

I think being a good person is definetly better than being spritual. I think God prefers good people. Look at Jesus he was against the Pharasies and I am sure they were considered to be very spritual in their day.

Dearest Stinky and Scarlet, may you both have peace!

I would like you to consider something with regard to the word "spiritual" and that is, earthling man's connotation of it, as taught by institutions such at the WTBTS. For instance, Scarlet's referral to the Pharisees as being "spiritual". I ask you, where is it written that such were spiritual? True, they considered themselves "righteous"... and that is where the problem starts: the WTBTS (and others) has MIStranslated that which is to mean "righteous" to mean "spiritual"... as well as their misteaching of what it means to be "faithful" (they confuse "loyalty"... and "sticking with"... with "faithful"... but they are NOT the same, not at all! Faithful has to do with knowing what you know because YOU know it to be true, because you have either seen or heard [of] it demonstrated... but not necessarily with your eyes [of flesh] - "the assured expectation of the things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities, though not beheld!" Think: when my Lord is recorded to have said, "Behold!", didn't he mean, "look!" or "see there!", as with eyes?).

But this has occurred because they themselves (the WTBTS) do not understand what "spirituality" truly is. If there truly was such a word as "spirituality" (which there really isn't)... "spiritual"... would mean being "of SPIRIT" (like "inspired" means being "IN spirit")! So, I ask you, Satan himself is a spirit, yes? And demons are spirits, yes? Well, then, they, too are "spiritual", yes? And their species/essence, then, is spirituality, like ours is humanity? SpiritualNESS vs. humaNESS! But does God prefer them?

Dear ones, being "spiritual" means nothing to God... unless such spirit is "good", and unless it is the means by which a human is "worshipping" God... by means of the man he is on the INSIDE... his SPIRIT... versus the man he is on the OUTSIDE... his flesh. For one can be/have a "bad" spirit... and thus be spiritually bad. Was not King Saul given a bad spirit... and that spirit was led by anger and a thirst for murder? Like Cain?

To GOD, then... it is being "good"... or "perfect"... in SPIRIT... that is desired. That the man we are ON THE INSIDE... is good... is loving. Versus the man we are on the outside, who may try to APPEAR good... having a FORM of godly devotion... but proving false to its power. Doesn't matter what you project to people; God sees what we REALLY are, for He sees our SPIRIT... the man we are on the INSIDE. It is not HIDDEN from HIM by means of this flesh... as it is hidden from one another of us! WE don't know what another one is on the inside... we only know what such one tells us or shows us... until we are granted to "see"... by means of holy spirit. But with only our eyes of flesh, we have no idea.

It is God, through Christ, then, who tells us what it means to be good... and perfect... and such things, although inside us... are not hidden from God and Christ. ALL things... are "opened" and "exposed" before such ones. Just as Adam was before... and after... his need... and attempt... to "hide" himself.

    I bid you peace.

AGuest,I'm curious, what religion do you follow?

  • AGuest
    AGuest

Dearest Shera... the greatest of peace to you!

I do not "follow" any religion, dear one. There is only One that I follow:

    John 8:12; Matthew 10:38; 23:10

Religion is nothing more than a false 'light' designed by the one who 'keeps transforming himself into an angel of light'... to 'mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones'... those who are the 'sons of Light... from following the One true Light.

    John 1:3, 9; 8:11

Because we are attracted to Light... looking for the True Light... our Adversary sets up these false lights that LOOK like true light... but are not. They are, in fact, dark, quite dark... darkness such that we cannot 'live' in it.

I follow the One that gave his life for me, dear Shera, the One whose name is JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH... who is the Son and Christ of the Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies... and no other. For there is no other. Neither does he dwell in handmade temples, but in me, a 'living stone' in the temple that he is building for God... to inhabit by spirit.

    John 6:68; 1 Cor. 3:16; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 2:19-21

    Again, I bid you peace.

    A slave of Christ,

    SJ
