Anyone remember a faith healer named Peter Popoff? He was also like this Benny hinn character. They finally nailed him when it was found out he was using a tiny transmitter in his ear. He claimed that God would tell him the name and ailment of the person he was healing. Turns out it was his wife reading off of the cards the audience filled out.....

I think it was shameful the way they attacked that dear Man of God, unbelievers will never believe.....

OK, I don't REALLY think that, I've always known Hinn was a huckster. I wouldn't give ya a plug nickle for these TV evangelists. The only one I have any modicum of respect for is Billy Graham, and I have integrity questions about him dating back to his "crusade" in the Soviet Union where he praised the "religious freedom" the Russians were allowed.

I read what dateline had on their site .This guy is something else .The people he claims to heal won't give substantial evidence for the fact . What a joke .I can't believe people fall for this crap.

Old Hinn sure does paint a bad picture of Christians. Although he claims to be one, it is blatantly clear that he is not one, and that his sole purpose is the get the mighty buck. Besides the fact that he is a lying, cheating, money grubbing swindler - his teachings puff himself up and go completely against what the Bible says. (that goes for 99% of the people on TBN)
For any unbelievers, don't think he teaches Christianity.
I could go through a list of all his false contradictory teachings, but that would wear my fingers to the bone - and anyone can find dirt on him on the web.

I didn't get to watch the Dateline, but here is an E-Mail Bill Bowen sent to everyone on the silentlambs Mailing List on 12-26-02:

While Dateline is scheduled to run for two hours (Fri. 12/27), it will be the second hour that's devoted to Benny.

Benny is already doing damage control. On last night's "Behind the Scenes" (TBN), he appeared with "Prophet" John Paul Jackson and proclaimed the coming attack against him (by the news media). He said they would be spreading "demonic lies." ( sound familiar?)

You may also want to have your VCR set for Sunday evening as well. On the "Behind the Scenes" (last night), Benny also said he was going to do a special appearance on the Sunday, 12/29 "Praise the Lord" show. On it, he said, he'd be revealing the new prophecies that God has been giving to him the last few days (i.e., about USA, Iraq, the forthcoming war, etc.). "Prophet" John Paul Jackson claims he received a word of knowledge a couple months ago that the media was going to attack Benny. Jackson said this attack would be so that God will be justified in moving Benny into a higher
calling -- which is supposedly being done because of the increase of the prophetic activity in Benny's life (and which is to be revealed this Sunday).

This must be a special Sunday PTL broadcast that Benny (and Paul Crouch) put together as soon as they got wind of the "Dateline" broadcast was to air on Friday. Normally, I think, the Sunday night version of PTL is just a rebroadcast of some erstwhile PTL program.

Benny, on "Behind the Scenes" was also calling for Christians to pray for the ineffectiveness of the "Dateline" show (which I don't think he ever called by name).

While Benny's claiming an increase in his prophetic words, I have my own prophetic word for him: "For nothing is hidden that shall not become
evident, nor anything secret that shall not be know and come to light" (Luke 8:17). Or, hey Benny, try Matthew 7:22-23 on for size. Fits quite nicely.
