Hopefully your friend sees the light soon. She obviously has a crush on this guy, and it will be hard to reason with her.
I would stay a friend of course, let her know what you think, and let her make her own decision. Maybe hang out with her a bit more, let her see you seeing what is going on, and maybe she will wise up.
Ultimately, she will probably tell you that you were right all along.
I can say we're pretty much not friends anymore. After I told her I didn't think she had any right letting a man her daughter has only known for five weeks discipline her. much less putting his HANDS on her, she jumped all over me about minding my own business, and that I had no right telling her how it goes down in her own house. I did call the law, and called the protective services. I don't know what has happened at this point. My friend has stopped talking to me and I doubt we'll talk any time soon. I just am afraid this guy is going to really overstep his bounds and hurt her or the girl. I called the girls' house parents.. they are quite aware of it now. I guess I've done all I can so far... but it sure hurts. I am upset that maybe I should have been more calm and gone about it in a different way..but I don't know. People are so stupid sometimes..
