Usually have SOME song or another stuck in my head everyday - or for many days!
Today, it's "Mean Old Man", off of James Taylor's newest album, "October Road." Arrangement by Dave Gruisin. GOOD LUCK WITH THE GRAMMY NOMINATION, JAMES!!! (As if he would actually lurk on this board!)

ME AND YOU AND A DOG NAMED BOO
I remember to this day
The bright red Georgia clay
How it stuck to the tires
After the summer rain.
Willpower made that old car go
A woman's mind told me that it's so
Oh, how I wish we were back
On the road again.
Me and you and a dog named Boo
Travellin' and livin' off the land.
Me and you and a dog named Boo
How I love bein' a free man.
I can still recall
The wheat-fields of Saint Paul
And the manin' we got caught
Robbin' from an old hen,
Old MacDonald, he made us work
But then he paid us for what it was worth
Another tank of gas and back
On the road again.
Me and you . . .
I'll never forget that day
We motored stately into big L. A.
The lights of the city put
Settlin' down in my brain,
Though it's only been a month or so
That old car's buggin' us to go
You gotta get away and get back
On the road again. -

Today it is "After the Gold Rush" by Neil Young, my favorite Canadian after Saint Satan:
"After The Goldrush"Well, I dreamed I saw the knights
In armor coming,
Saying something about a queen.
There were peasants singing and
Drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree.
There was a fanfare blowing
To the sun
That was floating on the breeze.
Look at Mother Nature on the run
In the nineteen seventies.
Look at Mother Nature on the run
In the nineteen seventies.
I was lying in a burned out basement
With the full moon in my eyes.
I was hoping for replacement
When the sun burst thru the sky.
There was a band playing in my head
And I felt like getting high.
I was thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.
Thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.
Well, I dreamed I saw the silver
Space ships flying
In the yellow haze of the sun,
There were children crying
And colors flying
All around the chosen ones.
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun.
They were flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home in the sun.
Flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home.
